Criss Cross Friends Card

Hello Everyone,

I really enjoyed making a Criss Cross style card and I’ve become a little hooked on them!

P1030119

I made this one with a Kaiser Craft paper pack and some shiny cardstock and dies. The edge was also punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch. Some eyelets give substance to the leather chord pull tab and a bit of glitter blings it up.

P1030117

The sentiment is a Cling stamp and the back of the card has been embossed with a flowers embossing folder. Because this card is two sections glued together at the back, I actually embossed both sections of the back of the card and it shows the raised embossing on both the inside and the outside of the back.

P1030114

This time I did the band with solid coloured cardstock (my last one was made with acetate), and I’ve wrapped it with some leafy ribbon – Using It Up – it’s the last of my stash of this ribbon. The flower is also sitting on some recycled florist hessian that was on some flowers I got recently. (gotta love a husband who gives flowers for no reason at all!) I’ve folded it over and stuck down. I really like the natural look it gave.

P1030112

I hope you enjoyed looking at this card and that perhaps it gives you some inspiration, coz that’s what this blogging thang is all about – inspiring each other!
This card suits the following challenges Winking smile
Thanks for stopping by, i’ll be back with more before the end of the week so keep an eye out for some Valentines inspiration Smile

Telescoping Card

Hello, thanks for stopping by!

I have been working my way through quite a few of the tutorials on split coast stampers and this is one of my favourites so far I think!

P1030092

This was such a simple card to make! It’s a few die-cut circles, scallops and flowers stamped and joined with a few matching brads! Simple as!
The top layer has a little ribbon sticking out to hang it up with.

P1030094

The middle layer is a lovely stamped heart & medallion all covered in glitter.

P1030095

The bottom layer is a place to write to your loved one.

P1030096

This is how it looks all closed up...

P1030099

and it kind of twists open in a telescoping kind of way…

A Christmas Card of Joyful Flowers

Hi Everyone,

I’m back to share a Christmas Card I have made
The theme this week is Christmas Flowers so I’ve embossed some lovely poinsettias
in sparkling red glitter and sprinkled glitter all around the edges of the mat.

P1030122

The layout I’ve used is from Mojo Monday #225, and here it is…

Mojo225Sketch

Here is a close up of how sparkly the red glitter embossing powder is!

P1030126

Kids Card

Hello Again, welcome back, glad to see you here.

Before I begin my post, I’d just like to say that My Blogaversary Candy is available to anyone who'd like to put their name in the Linky List on this post HERE.
Of course if you follow me too, it gets drawn quicker as it ends at 133 followers!
You gotta be in it to win it!

On to today - I have this gorgeous Kids Card to share, I’ve made it using another one of the wonderful tutorials on Split Coast Stampers, this time a Cross Over card.

017

There are three parts to this card, firstly the Cross Over part, which is stuck together to make a kind of envelope base. The dp is from My Minds Eye and I’ve used one small sheet of paper – showing both sides of it. I then punched a couple of little dragon flies to break up the timber side of the paper.

020

Then the insert to fill the base, or tag if you like. I’ve stamped a flourish and used the smallest Spellbinder Labels 4 to make a tab pull on the top. I then layered a fussy cat lion onto it. A bit of sentiment – this one is Happy Birthday from my Annabelle Stamps set of All Things Grow, along with a row of stars from one of my Christmas stamp sets. Another little dragonfly in a co-ordinating colour and a fussy cut pussy cat too.

021

It sits inside the crossed over base just nicely, with the tag and lions head sticking out the top. The Ink I used was Stampin Up, Tangerine Tango.

   023

A cute band is then wrapped around the card. I’ve used Acetate for my band as I didn’t want to hide the animals on the paper. I embossed it with a cuttlebug dotty embossing folder for some texture, and so you can actually see it. It’s decorated with some ribbon and a Quick Cutz Flourish die.

      019
Voila – all done.
I’d like to share this at the following challenges:-

Window Card

Hi Everyone,

Well I must say – this one took a while! lol In fact it’s been on my desk in various stages of make for about 2 weeks!

I knew I wanted to make a window card to showcase this gorgeous Bear paper that I’ve also had sitting around for a year or so! I made one card with it back when I bought it and being the horder I am, just didn’t want to part with it until now lol.

001 (2)

Well then along came Card Crafters Circle this week with their challenge to make a card along the theme of BEARS. That really spurred me on to finish it off I can tell you!

003004

I have a friend who is sick and in need of some Hugs so I decided to send her
some Bear Hugs – the best kind when your sick you know!

Each letter of BEAR is stuck to a little window that opens up to reveal a Bear beneath. Cute hey!

015  008

The inside is also decorated, and I’ve cut a Paw Print from the paper to leave an area to write in.

012

I made the background under the paw using distress inks, water and a wee rose stamp that matched the paper on the front of the card.

013

I’m also entering this card into the following two challenges:-

Side Step Card with Pepe

Hello Everyone,

The weekend is nearly upon us and I’ve knocked up this Side Step card, doing a little each night this week after work until it was finished.

The image was coloured with Copic Pens
Cheese: Y11, Y21, YR07
Ribbons: R22, R24
Eyes/Teeth: E81
Pepe: C1, C3, C5
Flower Stems: YG63, YG67

001

I used Rosie’s Garden DP and the image is from The Paper Shelter and it’s a digi called PepeL’SourisInLove. I’ve cut the image out with a spellbinder Labels Four die and I’ve done something a little tricky!

I cut around sections of the picture that were outside the frame with my cutting knife (around the flowers and the feet),  and pulled them above the nestie before running it through my Big Shot.

This left those areas outside the cut and it looks like Pepe and his flowers are actually layered onto the label die, but he isn’t. It’s all one piece of cardstock! Pretty tricky hey?

004 (2)

I wanted to have a bit of fun with this card and played around with the sentiment on it. The “love is..” sentiment is a clear stamp  from Kaiser and I added on the next layer back a cheeky “or perhaps cheese” using some Kaiser tiny alpha stickers.

006

I’ve coloured and cut a few extra Cheese hearts and an extra flower.
A yellow headed stick pin through the ribbon finished it off. I stuck a couple of small glass beads onto the bottom of the pin to cover up the pointy end so it doesn’t stick into you when handling the card.

002

I also adhered some baby yellow paper roses to the centres of the flowers to give some dimension to it. I don’t know if you can see it below, but on the edge of the label I’ve run some puffy paint in a pearly apricot colour. I’ve had this kids paint – it comes in a pen like glitter glue – for some 12 months in my stash and I reckon it was about time I started to Use It Up !

008 (2)

Here is the card from the side so you can see how it folds in steps.

005 (2)

I think I’ll enter The Paper Shelter DT call and see how I go. I’ve only recently found their shop and really like the variety of images.

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges also:
Just Tracys Crafts Challenge for the New Year is Love is in the Air

Well that’s it from me until sometime over the week-end when I’ve had some time out to do a little more… Of course you could go check out My Blog Candy and perhaps win yourself a little bundle of goodies Smile

Surprise Pop Up Mod Marci Card

Hi Everyone,

I purchased an adorable La La Land Digi Stamp (or two) this week and had this paper in mind to use with her – I loved the colours.

P1020998

This card is quite simple to make following the tutorial - I found it on Split Coast Stampers, give it a go yourself – here. I have used Kaiser paper called Esmerelda from the Gypsy Sisters collection.

P1030003

The inside pull out tag is attached to the window shutter with this card and when you pull the tag up the window shutter lifts dragging Marci into a vertical position and revealing the secret messages inside.

P1030006

Looks fantastic all popped up – if only my photography was better!I don’t know how people come up with these wonderful ideas, but I sure am glad they do.

P1020999

I coloured Mod Marci from La La Land Crafts with Copic pens and used the following colours:
Clothing: Black 100, BG15, BG18, RV29, R39
Guitar: E30, YR31, E15, E18
Skin: E00, E11, R20 and R22 for the lips
Hair: E13, E15, E18

I’m slowly getting the hang of blending different colours together – I think? Each combination seems new to me, but I think I'll use this one again!

I love this card and will have a hard time giving it away I think, I will share it at the following challenges though Winking smile

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my 3rd post today! lol

If you’d like to enter My Blog Candy and help to draw it all the faster
by following me so that I can reach the 133 follower deadline,
please put your name in the linky list on this post HERE.

Happy Birthday Owls

Hello All,

My Brother has a birthday coming up and I’ve made this card for him using the Mojo Monday Sketch #223

The Sentiment was a freebie provided by Aud Sentiments on Challenge #44, but actually made and sold by TLC. In keeping with what seems to be my theme for the year – LATE! I’ve only just got around to using this sentiment, however the current challenge #45 at AUD Sentiments Challenge is “Any Sentiment but use your scraps”, which this card is eligible for anyway! lol

004

although mine has been turned sideways in comparison to the sketch…

Mojo223Sketch

A quick tip is to use a frame on the inside to create a place to write what you want and have it in theme with the front of the card.

005

Here is a close up of those gorgeous owls – they are the Stampin Up Owl punch Owls and I’ve added some glitter, googledy eyes and a mix of colours gives them a little personality.

008

They were a great way to use up left-over scraps of cardstock that were too small for anything else much, but too big to throw out, we all have a box full of those I think!

Cheers Vicki xx

Stuck Santa Card

Hi Everyone,

Here is my second Christmas Card of the year for your enjoyment…

012

Well my weeks are slipping away in the New Year already…I’ve done this card for the 52 {Christmas"} Card Throwdown, originally with week 1 – sketch in mind…
52cctSketch 1
..only to be too late at getting it done! Great start to the year of crafting – where did those first two weeks go?

Anyways – I’ll still enter it in the challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown only I’ll use week 2 – colour….

52cctColor 1

I know, I know, I used Red & White with a splash of Black ! lol Will i get anything right this year?  Never mind…we’ll aim for correctness next week…I’m still getting a Christmas Card done and that’s the bonus Smile

I coloured the image (which is a fun freebie from Birds Cards ) using my Copic Markers, the colours were R24/R29 for the Pants, 100 for the Boots and R24/YR04 for the Bricks – a classic Australian Brick Colour, even if  snow is non existent here I couldn’t resist using my Flower Soft to create the snow, it’s Polar White.

Hope you enjoy, I’ll be back with my Mojo Monday shortly Smile

Cheers, Vicki xx

p.s my blog candy is still going, thank you to those who have entered, I will reach 133 followers this year I promise! lol If you haven’t entered, you have to be in it to win it – go HERE for the details and the Mr Linky to sign on with.

Star Card

Hello Again,

Here I am spoiling you all with a couple of posts in a row!
This is a very bright, fun card that I’ve made for the Card Crafters Circle’s 4th challenge – Make it Colourful.

This is a new shape for me – a Star Card! It wasn’t as difficult as it looks, just a matter of measuring, cutting and scoring in the right places. I used a template provided to me by my friend Trish, however there are some wonderful tutorials on You Tube.

P1020950

I had a an absolute blast making this card, using bright funky star paper, another freebie from Australian Simply Cards – I love that Mag! The other paper is from the Kaiser Class of 86 6” paper pad.

The flowers I have made myself, using a tutorial on Valitas Designs & Fresh Folds , where she made some hydrangeas. I altered the design a little, adding a layer and as my heart punch has a scalloped edge to it the flowers that I made look quite different.

P1020951 this is the card opened up.

There are so many products on this card – Kaiser organza ribbon is something I found in the bargain bin at Kaiser Robina just before Christmas and treated myself to a couple of cards of all different colours, I topped it with red pearl gems to go with the flower centres.

The Celebrate and Champagne glasses are stamped from an unknown clear stamp, and the glasses coated in Dimensional Magic after sprinkling some clear gems about for bubbles.

P1020956

The back of the card actually shows through to the front when it is folded shut, so these areas were also covered in stars – Theresa Collins papers I believe.

P1020958

This is how it looks half open.
P1020962  P1020963

On the front I have stamped an SU sentiment “you are special” and a lovely solid flower from a single cling stamp. I used SU Tangerine Tango ink to go with the cardstock and then sponged over with Daffodil Delight. I left the circle spellbinder in place while I sponged to get a white border.

It’s the first time ever making this Star shape and the Organza ribbon from Kaiser is new from my Christmas haul, so I think I qualify for both the following challenges..
Not to mention…Crafty Anns #56 – Let’s Think Hot… these are pretty Hot colours!

I hope you like my nice bright and very colourful Star Card.

Please do enter my Blog Candy HERE, it would be nice to finish it off before my Birthday in June, when I was hoping to be starting a new blog candy competition to celebrate.
Ciao for now Smile
