First Glimpse of Christmas 2011

Hi Everyone,

I’ve had a lovely week-end making this set of 4 Christmas cards with a paper pack that my good friend Trish gave me last year. Even the sentiments came on the papers! I did add some funky gold paper to the mix that was in one of my hodge podge cheapie bags. (You know the sort with all the odd flocked and embossed papers in them that you buy for $3 at the show).

P1020444I’m really pleased with the way they turned out so I bundled them up in a package with string and envelopes ready to be a gift for some lucky person.

P1020438  ...A bit of distressed, torn and inked edges

… Some ribbon and pearls
A bit of ribbon … some lovely sentiments layered up on white card.P1020445P1020446

Just adorable if I say so myself! lol

Well I guess I’ll have to enter these into a Christmas challenge, so here there go, uploading to…..

You all have a good week now – I’m off to play with my new sewing machine. (brag brag brag he he)
Ciao for now xx

La La Birthday

Hi Everyone,

I made this cute little birthday card with a little girl in mind.

P1020427

I have the La La Land "Ballerina Marci" image thanks to the girls on the Copic stand at the Brisbane papercraft festival in June.
I have coloured her with Copics. The background paper is a freebie from Australian Papercraft magazine. The flower is a few layers of things topped up with a huge orange blingy thing.
I want to enter this card with the Corrosive Challenge because it really is such a Girlie card. Also it’s being entered with One Stop Craft Challenge because it is Bold and Bright!
Be back later in the week with more :)

Layered up ‘n’ All That

Hello Again,

Didn’t expect me back so soon did you?

I have had two weeks of lounging around the house feeling rotten with the flu, the weather here has been awful, cold and raining – so what better to do than some colouring!

P1020430

The Kenny K Krafty Girls challenge this week was layers and since this “All That” Kenny K image was coloured earlier, I figured it was perfect to go with my blue papers.

I added some raindrop spots from Kaiser to go with the weather here and the sentiment is from a magazine freebie from Australian Papercraft. I added a little black corner to the embossed card layer.
My photography could probably be something to be desired – not! lol
Hope you all like it Smile

Mojo Resist

Hello Everyone,
I have finally got back into it with a Mojo Monday #204 Sketch and a little fun with crayons and ink to create a background using the resist method.

P1020426

I saw an explanation for this method on the C.R.A.F.T challenge blog and decided to give it a go, and enter the challenge too.

I drew a simple pattern with a white crayon on white cardstock, and then sponged different coloured inks all over it to reveal the pattern I’d drawn. It really is quite effective.

I’ll have to have a go at this with some stamps and embossing for a bit more sophistication I think.

Enjoy!

Edit.....Oops - missed the Mojo Linky List! lol

Concertina Flowers

Hello Again,

Told you I’d be back! lol

I cased a magazine article to make this card. It was designed by Jane Clark and published in the Australian Cardmaking Stamping & Papercraft Vol 17 No 4.

I fell in love with the flower and they were so easy to make! A little concertinaed paper, a staple, some glue and some stamens. I cut my own leaves out and dotted gems all over. The stem is made from gems as well. The background paper is from a Kaiser 6” paper stack called Tea at Elsie's. The flower paper is from K & company mat pack called Abrianna.

The Happy Birthday is a gold Rub On and it’s been added to my Stampin Up Punched shapes – oval on scallop oval. A little satin ribbon to finish.

Here's a close up of the flowers - such a simple idea and yet they're really effective and dimensional.

This card is perfect for the challenge of Handmade Flowers at the Creative Card Crew !

The Play Date Cafe has a colour combination of Navy, Leaf Green & Bubblegum for challenge 95 – I guess 2 out of 3 aint bad! lol.

Hope you like it – I had fun making it Smile

No Ordinary Card

Hello Everyone,

I am sharing with you today a card I have made in response to a challenge from my Stampin Up Demonstrator (Jane Norrish). Jane sent me the materials used in this card and I had to create something with them.

At our September Papermates meeting our creations will be judged, but I couldn’t wait to share with you all what I’ve made…

P1020400

The only thing Jane didn’t supply was the colour I’ve used on the stamped images. Twinkling H2O’s look rather awesome I think. I had two flowers and cut some of the petals off one of them and layered it up on a dimensional.

These images are possibly from the new Stampin Up catalogue that is due out in September. I’m sorry I won’t know what the set is called until my Papermates meeting when all will be revealed to me.

P1020403

I’m so pleased with the results, especially on the butterflies,  I’m sure Jane won’t mind if I enter it in challenge or two here first. I had trouble with the antennae on the butterfly and ended up using a little twine behind them instead of fussy cutting them.
Sir Stampalot’s August Challange is for Whatever I Fancy, I think this card is pretty fancy so in goes an entry there.
Anything goes for the PCJ Challenge – that would be Paper Crafting Journey by the way.
Craft us Crazy is also doing Anything goes.

With some awesome prizes all round, you gotta be in it to win it Right?

I’ll be back in a little while with some gorgeous hand made flowers on a card I’ve cased from a magazine.

Ciao for now Smile

A Lovely Cross

Hello Again,
This was my first attempt at doing the Baptism card and I just wasn’t sure about it. It is more suitable I think for a sympathy card. As I haven’t decided yet I’ve left the sentiment off.

P1020369
I did see one similar to this in my travels and the design kinda stuck in my head, so if it was yours – thank you Smile
P1020370

I have layered the cross and the dp on the same colour card. The top layer of the cross is embossed with the SU embossing folder. A gorgeous little paper flower that I picked up from Kaiser was attached along with some lace ribbon along the bottom. The whole thing is then spritzed with some home-made glimmer mist ( a mixture of distress ink, water and perfect pearls).
I concentrated on colouring the flower and then spritzed the whole card lightly to give it a speckled shine.
The whole effect is lovely with the different shades of blue.

I will share this in the following challenges:-

Glad to share it with you :)

Baptism Dress Card

Hello Everyone,
Well I guess I took my time getting back here and have totally missed a Mojo Monday, and will probably miss it this week too. My good ness life has been keeping me busy – no complaints though!

I have had time to make a couple of cards, so now it’s time to share them…

P1020368

I made these two dress shaped cards, the white one was embossed with both of my Stampin Up embossing folders. Then I decided to do a blue card and wanted polka dots embossed on it instead. I also rounded the corners and added some lace and bling. The neck was punched with circles and scallops.

The idea is not a new one, and I’m not sure who to credit – but I saw this card many times in the galleries on Split Coast Stampers and decided it was perfect for the Baptism of a friends’ child that is coming up. Trish and Treasure thought it was so cute that she made one too and no doubt will have her post up before too long to show it off.

I will enter them in the following challenges:-

They are very sweet – hope you think so too Smile
