Pop Up Card

Hi Everyone,

I’m back with two great Pop Up cards that are perfect for an adult male – which is just as well, because we have 5 birthdays for boys coming up in the ensuing weeks! I kept the front of both cards the same and pretty CAS too. A few score lines and an embossed frame with sentiment inside and voila! Two cards for Men.

P1030515

I love the final result here on the inside. Once again the ribbon border punch was used on one and the lattice embossing folder was used on the other to create some fake ribbon wrapping around each box. The little bits sticking up are supposed to represent the ribbon on top. The background was stamped with an old Linen Background stamp and Crumb Cake ink to match the base.

   P1030514        P1030513

The papers are from the Stampin’ Up Well Worn pack. I went crazy buying paper this month because of the Stampin’ Up Paper Party promotion. What value One option is to Buy 3 packs and get the 4th one FREE! I couldn’t resist – if you want to take advantage of this promo yourself, check out my Stampin’ Up Website and click on the Promotions. It ends 30th May so get in quick!

This is what the folds look like from above…

P1030519

The insert is cut and scored to pop up each present so it looks like they are sitting one atop the other. It was cased from someone else of course, no way I would think of something this simple, yet clever! Hope you like it Smile

Masculine Birthday with Sweets

Hi Everyone,

I’ve been having a fun time making this card with built in sweets box for a certain Father In Law whose birthday is coming up in a day or two. The paper is from the Stampin’ Up Well Worn pack and it’s been layered onto Crumb Cake cardstock to make the front panel of the card.

P1030521

The “construction” part of the card is made with Soft Suede cardstock and a piece of acetate is used in the window. I really must get myself the modern label punch – it would have made the perfect window! Once again I’ve used a tutorial from Split Coast Stampers to create the base of this card - that has a box off to one side that is filled with sweets. (candy coated liquorice in this case Smile )

The sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up set called Punch Bunch and it is layered onto a plain tag which was cut using the Sizzlit called Lots of Tags that is available with Stampin’ Up. Here I have cut it from Crumb Cake cardstock, but because it didn’t stand out too well, I sponged over it with Cajun Craze ink. There’s a little bakers twine wrapped around it too.

This was styled using the Mojo Monday Sketch as I am want to do…

Mojo242Sketch

Yes, that is the Ribbon Border Punch again – this time in Not Quite Navy cardstock. Heck, who needs ribbon with a punch like that! A little scrap of cardstock was embossed with the Lattice embossing folder and put across the top of the box on top of some extra score lines. (oops)

P1030523

Hope you like this very masculine card – I’m sure my Father in Law is going to love the fact that it has sweets in it – even if he is Seventy odd years of age!

On to some challenges I’d like to enter this in….

Papermates was a world of fun today – and I’ll be back with more goodies to show you. Perhaps a little twittery bird or two? You’ll have to pop back and see. Have fun yourself now, that is what it’s all about…

Gift Box Birdie Just for You

Hi Everyone,

Been terribly busy with work, but hoping to change all that for a week until the madness of End of Financial Year here in Australia begins at the end of June.
I have today a gorgeous little gift box that I’ve made using a tutorial on Split Coast Stampers called Marias Treat Box.

P1030471

I’ve decorated with those wonderful papers we all loved and can’t get any more! lol The Bird punch and the Oval set of stamps for the sentiment (in Tempting Turqoise) with the matching oval & scallop punches. Of course the ever useful scallop ribbon border punch wraps all the way round. This punch will just keep going as long as your peice of paper does!

P1030474

A little pearl for the bird’s eye finished if off nicely. It’s going to look even better with a clear cellophane bag of lollies sitting in there – all tied up with a pretty bow and a name tag. Perfect gift for any reason I think!

I’ll share this with the following challenges:-

Hope you have a go at making this project too – is much easier than it looks!
Have a great day Smile

Hello Card

Hi Everyone, or Hello as the card says! Just a quick post today to share this neat CAS style card. I’ve been practising! Still have the need to embellish though, so I’m not entirely sure you could call it CAS! lol

P1030483

I was inspired somewhere in my blog hopping travels to try this technique out. It was fairly simple, just had to make sure the sentiment lined up underneath so it was important it was stamped straight.

The Fancy Flower punch was used….again Smile

The stamp is from the Stampin Up “My Friend” stamp set and the colours I have used are Staz On Black over the Island Indigo cardstock and Island Indigo ink on the Whisper White CS. The Bakers Twine from the current Winter Mini Catalogue is also in Island Indigo. A couple of brad gems finished off the corners with a sparkle.

I will share this at the following challenges:-

It is a simple but effective card I think, hope I’ve inspired you too.

Don’t forget to check out my Stampin’ Up website for further information on the current Paper Party promotions or if you are interested in becoming an Australian Stampin’ Up Demonstrator yourself – a generous discount on products is a great incentive and the new and improved Starter Kit is mind blowing!

Bright Funky Mojo

Hello, I’ve managed to fit in the Mojo Monday sketch again this week and I’ve used the colours in The Paper Players challenge too. I’m not usually that organised lol. I also couldn’t believe my luck in finding some red cotton that was Poppy Parade all over, though my sewing is a bit skewiff!

P1030485

This is the sketch….
Mojo241Sketch

and this is the colour theme…
PP95 Theme

I added a Dimensional Flower for the challenge at SUO challenges, and it was made using the Blossom Petals Builder punch and the matching stamp set Build a Blossom. That is exactly what I’ve done – built a blossom. Just as well I could use my inks to make up the colours I needed because the only cardstock I had was the Daffodil Delight!
P1030487

Can you see the little hearts on the banner? This was made using the Textured Impressions Embossing Folder in the Adorning Accents set that you will find in the current Winter Mini Catalogue (there’s a link to the catty on the side bar – check it out!). I also used a Baja Breeze Stampin’ Write marker to colour over the raised hearts.
P1030488

I’ve decorated the inside too! I had a little circle of Daffodil Delight cardstock leftover due to making my circle slightly smaller than I originally thought. I really loathe throwing out little bits like this and I thought it made a nice accent for your written words on the inside. It did look a bit lonely so I stamped a flower with the same stamp set in the bottom corner. I love how versatile the Build a Blossom is!

Perhaps the girls at Card Crafters Circle will let me join their Rainbow Bright challenge – with half the colours of the rainbow but certainly Bright!

Don’t forget to check out the new offer from Stampin’ Up – it involves a FREE paper pack! Check it out HERE.

Thanks for stopping by  – I’ll be back with more in a day or two, that blasted work is getting in the way again! lol.

Have a great day Smile

Banner Card

Hi Everybody,

I have a lovely little card with a big banner on it to share with you.
P1030476

I made it to suit the sketch at Create with Connie and Mary. I took their advice when they suggested we make the card smaller than normal so that the whole thing, banner and all will fit in an envelope. It worked!
P1030477

The sentiment is a retired Stampin’ Up set and I usually only use it one line at a time, but it kinda looked good like this and focused on one subject – love! one thing I do love – it’s my Fancy Flower Punch. I used it here with the designer paper and some pearls. Looks wonderful all distressed with ink and crumpled up.

The Finial Press embossing folder was used on the other end of the sentiment card and sponged over with Soft Suede ink, as were all the distressed edges you can see. Victoria Lace was adhered to the centre of the banner to give it a vintage look and Pearls on the flower were along the same theme.

I think I’ll also share this card at Crazy 4 Challenges, because I have been a bit Crazy lately, for challenges that is! It also fits the colours of their inspiration challenge nicely!

Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again soon.

Mojo Strikes Again!

Hi Everyone,

I’ve got to say – Mojo Monday Strikes Again with an awesome sketch challenge!
P1030479

I’ve been using up the Designer Paper I purchased with the Stampin’ Up Sale-A-Bration a few months ago and it has worked beautifully here! Once again the stamps from the Vintage Vogue stamp set have graced my card, the lovely swirly background was stamped in Sahara Sand and the two different sized flowers were stamped in Sahara Sand and Pool Party inks then fussy cut out. There’s also a new purchase or two – the Finial Press embossing folder and Victoria Lace ribbon!
P1030480

Do you like that curly banner? So very easy to do! I have cut a curly label into in circle by first cutting the window using the Movers and Shapers die in the Big Shot, and then cutting the circle. That is then wrapped with a strip of coordinating designer paper to create the curly banner and layered onto a bigger circle that has the sentiment stamped right where the curly label was cut out. Pumpkin Pie ink was used to stamp the Thank You sentiment from the set called Thank You Kindly.

A few pearls, paper twirls made from trimming scraps and rounded corners finished this card off nicely.

Obviously it is the Mojo Monday sketch this week…

A Cascading Card Friends

Hello Everyone,

Today I’d like to share this bright and flower card for a friend
that cascades as it opens!
P1030459

The template was provided to me by one of my Stampin’ Up colleagues – thank you Anne! I love how simple this card was. Just two sections of card slotting together with coordinating folds. Here it is again to give you a better idea of how it collapses flat and cascades when it is open.
P1030455 closed - open     P1030458

The colours are all In Colours from 2012-2013. The paper is left-overs from a recent Sale-A-Bration catalogue and I’ve used two stamp sets that would be unlikely to use together. The little girls are from The Nicest Things which is great for colouring in with your Stampin’ Write markers, and the Friends and F are from Vintage Vogue. (yes I’m addicted to Vintage Vogue!) Here’s a close up of them for you…
P1030457

All in all this card was perfect to share at Card Makin Mamas this week for their Spring Photo Challenge. Check out this cake – the layers remind me of my card – cascading! The colours I used are almost right, but it the shape of the cake more than anything that was inspiring for me.
CMM wedding cake 5      Pretty similar shape huh!        P1030462
Hope you like it!

I’ll be back in a couple of days with some gorgeous little treat boxes that I’ve been making to use for presents. I’m sure you’ll love them.

Have a great day…

Mum and Mojo

Hi Everybody,

I’ve made another Mothers’ day card for a friend to give to her mum. I made a butterfly using The Beautiful Wings sizzlit die cuts and layered a couple together. I wanted to keep the colour scheme fairly monochromatic, so apart from the outline of the flowers and the Sentiment (which is Always Artichoke and needed to be darker to outline them properly), the whole card is done in Pumpkin Pie & Whisper White.

P1030446

The flowers were stamped using a “two step” system. One stamp has an outline and the other has the ‘filling’. By stamping the outline in a dark colour and the filling in a bright colour you can give the look of a water colour painted picture. Pumpkin Pie is the main bright colour I’ve chosen and it is outlined by Always Artichoke

I used the round option of the Mojo Monday sketch again this week – they make it so easy to put a quick card together don’t they!

Mojo239Sketch

The sentiment Just for You is one of the Oval All set of stamps. I use this set all the time as it co-ordinates with the small oval and scallop oval punches. I’m going to share this card over at Card Crafters Circle this week as the theme is Mothers Day.

Hope you like it, I’m sure my friend and her mother will like it.

Thanks for stopping to look and I hope you have a great day, see you again soon Smile
