Mmm Mojo Cake and Decorated Dog

Hi Everybody, just being my consistent self (keeping my blog promise to myself) and getting the Mojo Monday sketch # 192 sorted for the week. Am looking forward to next week’s Mojo sketch as it will be competition week – and it’s always fun to be in the chance to win something now isn’t it? Actually, this week’s Mojo card turned out so very cute I wish it were comp week this week!

Here it is..

P1020171

I love this Kaiser paper, it’s one sheet and shows both sides of the paper. I’ve layered it all up on coordinating cardstock and cut a tag with my little sizzlit die for the sentiment, which came from a stamp set received with my Do Crafts magazine a few months ago. It was a cupcake theme. I accented the icing with a little glitzy glitter and used a pretty satin ribbon.

Here is the sketch this week…

Mojo192Sketch

I really enjoyed this sketch.

It's also Cupcake time over at the Corrosive Challenge - so had to enter it there too :)

I also have a little something else to share today, my adorable 4 year old niece decided that Pepper (our dog) needed a little decorating today – what do you think of her handy work?

P1020169

Pepper doesn’t look too impressed, but I thought she looked rather cute Smile

Man’s Birthday Card

Hi Everyone,

I had occasion to make a male birthday card – it’s for my father in law who is a mad scotsman and a car enthusiast. I hope he likes it. Probably won't know if he does or not coz I can't understand his accent! lol.

P1020168

I absolutley love the way it turned out, so I'm sure he'll be pleased that I made an effort for him.

It's all about the papers here - and I've left their names out in Girl World and it is also much too cold to wander out there now and go searching the bin for the little strip off the bottom lol. I'll update them here tomorrow though to make it up to you if you really wanted to know what they were.

I do know the sentiment is a Stampin Up stamp and is cut with the SU Word Window and layered on SU punches – oval and scallop oval. Gee they come in handy all nesting perfectly like that!

I’ve also edged all layers with Ranger ink – tea dye.

I think I’ll enter this into the following challenges who are all wanting masculine cards :-

Thanks for looking - enjoy!

Rosey Mojo

Hello Everyone,
I’ve gone all rosey for Mojo Monday #191 and figure it’s the perfect card for my Nanna’s freinds’ 95th Birthday. It says nothing about Birthdays, Age or Life in general – it is just plain pretty. Lets face it – by 95 you’ve heard it all but you’ll still appreciate Prettiness. I hope!
This is my card…
P1020142
and this is the sketch this week…
Mojo191Sketch
I used a cuttlebug embossing folder on only half of the base apricot colour card and surrounded the different elements with gold foil stickers to make them stand out. The gorgeous little stamp (which is out of it's packet and has no name) has been gold embossed on a spellbinder circle and layered on a spellbinder scallop to match. A few gold brads and a nice banner and voila! done!
Hope you like my take on the sketch this week. I was aiming for a vintage feel without the shabby bits Smile

More Brayer Fun

I’ve been really enjoying playing with my brayer since receiving the stamp set from Annabelles Stamps – All Things Grow (he he he yep AGAIN!) it’s perfect for grassy scenes.
Here is a card I’ve put together with a sunset through the reeds theme.
P1020138
It’s an idea that’s been cased from Michelle Zindorf’s blog – a big thank you to Michelle I am having a ball trying to make my brayering look something like yours Smile
Here is a bit of a close up of the sentiment – probably should have used black ink here, but I sort of liked the “washed out by the sun” look it has given the card.
P1020139

I’ve layered the panel up on some photo corners and done a little peircing to finish it off. I'm slowly getting better at this technique. They say practice makes perfect.

Purple Haze Birthday

Hello again,
Just wanted to quickly share another card I made using “All Things Grow” from Annabelle Stamps
(yes – again! Get used to it, I’m in love with this stamp set and this is probably only the beginning)

P1020136

I started out with white cardstock and used my SU stampin spot in  {crumb cake} colour to swipe the colour on straight with the spot. I then embossed the grasses across the bottom of the card. Went back to the stampin spots with {river rock} and added some green along the back of the grass. I then used a sponge and some {not quite navy} to highlight the night sky which blended to purple {elegant eggplant}. I then went and stamped some more grasses in purple to make them really stand out.
An SU Scallop punch, Oval punch and Word Window were used to mount the Happy Birthday sentiment from the set.
I love how this card came out, however, I think my blending needs a little more practice. Back to more playing with this stamp set it is.

The girls over at C.R.A.F.T Challenge are having a Birthday Blog Hop and Happy Birthday card challenge. This is my entry.

Crafty Cardmakers wanted embossing - well it sure is!

Hoping to spend more time in Girl World tomorrow - My Nanna needs a card for her 95 year old friend of 71 years - must have pretty flowers on it is the call. Will have to see what I can come up with!

Happy Birthday Kristy

My good friend Kristy is having a birthday – 31 on monday – and she thinks she’s old! lol I made this card for her and thought I’d share it with you first.

P1020130
It’s got a lovely tri-fold factor….
P1020132

...and because she loves flowers, butterflies and purple I used Kaiser “purple” paper that is covered in big bold flowers and embossed some gorgeous little butterflies on two of the panels using one of the butterflies from my new Annabelles Stamp “All Things Grow”. (which is the set I chose from my win with Annabelles a few weeks ago)

I’ve also used my SU Embosslit “Beautiful Wings” to cut some butterflies out and decided to emboss them silver along with the sentiment on the front panel. Some pretty bling finished it off.
Hope you like it. I’m gonna enter it in a couple of challenges I like it so much.

I did say a couple of challenges! lol

I'll be back later with a couple of brayered cards I did using the stamp set from Annabelles mentioned above :)

Missing my Mojo

Hi Everyone,

Well, since I missed Mr Linky in the last Mojo due to computer failure (was the important week too - competition week! typical!) I thought I had better get in early this week. Of course the card has been made for two days, I just haven't been able to load it because Blogger was out of action! Not having much luck with technology these last few weeks. Kinda scary how much we rely on it really.

Anyway, the Mojo Monday Sketch #190, here is my take on it....

I've clear embossed my new Tim Holtz stamp onto red card and sponged purple ink all over it so the design stands out. A trusty spellbinder scallop rectangle cut it out perfectly and a couple of gorgeous embossing folders made a frame on one layer and did some cute little triangle patterns on another. A sizzix lock and key was cut - I've embossed the lock with SU embossing folder and the sentiment is SU as well - also embossed and sponged. a couple of buttons, some raffia taped down and some twine tied around the lock. Hmmm, there was quite a bit in that wasn't there!

Here is the sketch...

I really like the effect of it all anyway, hope you do too :)

Happy Birthday Hubby

Hi all,
It sure is good to get back blogging - blogger has been offline a little during the last week.

I made my hubby a birthday card and used the Corrosive Challenge Sketch #115 to do it.

Here it is.....

and here is the sketch...

Hubby loved the race car, I love the embossing! lol

Hope you like it too :)

Ever Grateful for Mojo

Hi Everyone,

My main computer is on the blink and I was so desperate to get my Mojo Monday 189 entry in that I have jumped onto the little notepad we keep for skyping when we are travelling!

Here is my Mojo for this week - I'm Ever Grateful it is even here...

 P1020115

The sketch this week looks like this...

Mojo189Sketch

The papers I've used are from Stampin' Up's Blueberry Crisp collection. In fact, almost everything on this card is SU! All except the Ever Grateful sentiment which is from Stamp It.

Thanks for looking :)

Make A Wish - ABSC#037

Hello Everyone,

I'm back with a quick card for Annabelle stamps Sketch Challenge # 037.

A big thank you to Annabelles (and Mr Linky) for the win at the last challenge - I should be so lucky twice in a row! I've ordered some pretties from Annabelle with my voucher and can't wait till they arrive!

I have tried some paper peicing this week and while I'm not totally happy with it - I did learn for next time - not to use such an open pattern perhaps? I did think the teddy bear paw prints would look cute on a teddy though. Here is my card ...a little different to what I'd normally do...but hey - you gotta try.

Hope you like it... am having a few days of work now so won't be back till the week end :)
