Grow Scrumptious

Hi Everyone,
I have had a wonderful week-end, it’s been so busy that I’ve only made 1 – ONE – card. I made it for the Truly Scrumptious Challenge blog, which had a deadline, and a very nice prize! Check it out here.

P1020255

The sketch for this challenge (#59) was awesome!

Scrumptious

I had such a lot of fun choosing the papers and using my spellbinders. The stamps are from a couple of different sets, the flower and ‘Grow’ is a clear set that I think is from Christina Re and the sentiment is from Kaiser, along with the papers.
A little embossing in black glitter really made the flower and the sentiment glitter and sparkle.

P1020256

As it is a black card base, I thought I’d better put something inside to allow you to write on it. I picked up a little die at the Brisbane Paper craft fair, the brand is ‘wonderhouse’ and it is these gorgeous little corners. They really frame the plain paper inside just beautifully.
The die came with four different corners in it and for a total cost of Five Bucks! Gosh I love a bargain Smile

I’m quite sure I won’t get back here for a little bit, as End of Year is nigh – and if you’re a bookkeeper like me, you’ll be taking deep breaths ready for the Chaos of the next month and a half! So whilst I will be trying desperately to get some stuff done, don’t hold your breath Sad smile

Mojo Girl

Hello Again,

I found my Mojo this week with a free digi stamp from Anne Bodil , you can go to her blog HERE to see all the other great stuff she draws.

I’ve coloured this girl with my Copics on her skin and hair and used normal markers for the rest of her. My Copic collection will grow eventually!

P1020244          P1020245

A Spellbinders Label 4 came in handy – twice, I’ve cut the label to put the sentiment on as well as layering my girl onto one.
The backing paper is from Kaiser, seem to be using them up this week.
A strip of pink card that’s been embossed with my SU lattice embossing folder makes up the sketch, along with a circle punched from black card.
The SU Beautiful Wings sizzlit cut butterflies and a bit of glitter finishes off.

Mojo196Sketch

Hope you like my take on it.
Once again, have a great week, I’ll be back over the week-end no doubt. I have a couple of projects I’d like to get finished and this weekend is looking quiet enough to achieve that.
Ciao xx

Celebration Pinwheel

Hi Everyone,

My Niece has a 19th birthday coming up next month and I really wanted to use this Kaiser paper that I’ve had floating around in bits and pieces (since using it on Kristy’s birthday card a few months back).
The paper is called Skull Girl.

I combined it with an Anitas card blank of a special kind….read on to see Surprised smile

Here is my card…        P1020236

I made a Pinwheel out of the different patterns on the paper and used a big Kaiser Brad in the middle that co-ordinates with the paper.

P1020238

I stamped Celebrate (another iCling stamp) with it’s matching frame and then die cut it with my new Nellies Multiframe die (#MFD009) which I picked up at the Brisbane Papercraft Fair for a whole $16.95!! What a bargain and it’s gorgeous!

P1020239

There’s also some liquid pearls on there too – another new to me thing! Much easier than those rotten little stick down pearls. I’ve embossed the white background with a Couture Creations folder called Diamond Trellis and inked all the edges I could find with “Rich Razzleberry” Stampin Up ink.
I mentioned that my card blank was rather special, and this is why….

P1020242

It has the most adorable heart cut out popping up from the centre. I love it! The card blank comes in two separate parts so you can put some matching DP underneath the heart as a feature…..

P1020241  See!

Miss Emilly is sure to like this one, especially when she finds some money hidden inside! Bribery works every time for a big hug Smile

I’m going to enter this card into the following challenges, just because I can –

You have a great week now, I’ll be back with my Mojo before you know it!

Tempting Mojo

Hello again,

A little more time in Girl World today led to a completed Mojo Monday entry – No 195 to be precise!

I picked up this lovely silhouette stamp at the Brisbane Papercraft Fair and think she looks rather delightful in Tempting Torquoise ink, hence the name for this post – here’s my entry, Tempting huh…

P1020220

The sentiment is a simple Happy Birthday (part of my favourite Annabelles Stamps set “All Things Grow” and was amazed to find that it fits the SU Word Window punch perfectly!

P1020222

There’s a pile of Kaiser flowers, gold brads, ribbons and ric-a-rac that make up the rest of this card. Oh – and the flowers embossed on the background – this was a small free folder that came with a Do Crafts magazine at some stage, am very happy with that, there's also a fiskars edge punch, spellbinders circle & scallop circle etc etc.

Here is the sketch I was following…

Hope you all have a great week-end – TTFN

Tiger Special

Sounds like a Chinese dinner doesn’t it! he he – not quite!

P1020213

I made this card with an image that my friend Trish loaned to me. At least she loaned me the stamp, I had to colour the image myself, which was quite a bit of hard work I must say!

I used Copic Sketch pens where I could (if I had a colour that worked), the rest is just done with ordinary connector pens.

I have also used a new stamp that was purchased at the Brisbane Papercraft Fair, it is the sentiment, I love it – it has it’s own border!

This one is going to my Dad, he likes Tigers, although the ones we see are White at Dreamworld lol.

It’s also going into the following challenges:-

It’s such a beautiful card, I just had to share it around Smile

Standing Before God for CPS 222 / 1

Hello Everyone,

I bet that title got your attention!

I love the sentiment on this sticker, its a 7 Gypsies product and I received two whole sheets of these stickers in a pizza box full of vintage papers and elements for my birthday this year. (thanks Trish).

Here’s my card for entry into the Card Positioning System challenge # 222
I really liked this sketch as it was quick and simple to do, as well as being perfect for the sticker.

The paper is one double sided sheet called Lilac House – Tapestry #953. It has these gorgeous big paisley patterns on one side and a distressed linen look in plain pinkish/coralish/red on the other side.

I layered it up onto some green card that has been embossed with a script writing embossing folder and some ribbons and glitter along the edge of the ric rac ribbon.

I had a wonderful day at the Craft Fair in Brisbane yesterday with two of my ‘besties'. Just wait til you see some of the things that I bought! I’ll be showing them off proudly over the coming weeks.

Have a great day now Smile

Mojo Sk8r Boy

Hello my blogging buddies,
I have made this cute little boys Birthday  card using the Mojo Monday #194 Sketch this week. I really liked this sketch for incorporating bold colours and they’re just perfect for this skate-boarding boy stamp.

This is the sketch this week...

That’s it for me for now. Ciao xxxx

More Papermates

Hi Everybody,

I finally finished off the remaining cards from the kits I received at Paper mates. (see previous post for the first lot).
I’m going to post these ones into a couple of challenges each, so I’ll link challenges up under each card.

First is my own kit – I really love what Trish did with these materials and found it hard to come up with something remotely as good Smile (love you anyways Trish!)
Here are the two cards I made with my own kit…
P1020205
This first one is a favourite of mine, simply for the sentiment – if only we could get away with doing all the Nothing we want!
The second one below, I took advantage of a pattern that was on the reverse side of the butterfly paper and used it as a central piece and layered the gorgeous little butterfly over it. The paper around this decal was a lovely script writing (as seen on Trish’s card).
P1020196
Here’s a close up of that butterfly – it was a cheap shop find and very pretty.
P1020197
a few gold brads down the centre to go with the little badge sentiment of beauty.
I’ll post this into these challenges:

The next  card was the remaining bits from Cheryls kit…
P1020203

I coloured this in with twinkling H20’s and did a pile of distressing and even used the bag the bits came in. I had to add my own sentiment here, but that’s not a bad thing.
These are the challenges I’ll enter this into:

Last but not least is from Anne’s kit (and I still have one more to make with this kit!)
P1020200

There’s that feather I was telling you about in the first post. Looks fab with the little silver fan and that swirly paper. A silver foil Happy Birthday sticker and  a little ribbon and there you have it!
These challenges suit this card

Well that’s it for me for the moment. My Mojo card for this week will be along in a day or two – it’s almost done!
As always – hope you like the cards Smile

Papermates June 2011

Hello again,

Our Paper-mates get together was yesterday and we did a paper craft swap day where everybody who wanted to participate put enough bits and pieces into a kit (x6) to make a card with. Most of us put too much in and we got enough to do 2 cards from each kit at least.

I haven’t finished with all of mine yet, but did get 5 cards made in the day! yahoo.
I really enjoyed this concept as it made me work with things that I wouldn’t normally look at or consider.

Here are the cards I’ve made so far…

Kit 1 (from Toni)

P1020183      P1020184

Got two cards out of this kit and still have some lovely little die cuts left over, one of a bird on a branch which is just adorable.

Kit 2 (from Cheryl)

P1020182

Ahh yes – it is my Mojo card for this week (see previous post for details). I also have left overs here – the other four corners of paper and a lovely stamped image of a sunflower inside a border which I have coloured in but not used yet).

Kit 3 (from Trish)

P1020193

I absolutely love the simplicity of this card. I used dimensional magic on the die cuts provided (or should I say cricut cuts provided Smile) I did it in two stages, I wanted the frame and the sentiment to be glittered so I did that first and when it had dried I put the dimensional magic over the head of the cameo.

Here’s a closer picture…
P1020195

It’s a bit hard to tell but the head really is quite glossy and deep. Trish’s kit also has other bits – a whole another card to make in a vintage style with lace and all. Can’t wait to get to that one!

You can go over to Trish’s blog to see what she made with the same materials if you like – Here.

Kit 4 (can’t remember the lady’s name! aagh how rude of me!)

P1020186

I made a stand up card with these lovely bits and once again there was enough in the kit for a whole other card – some doily and corrugated card to name the least! Will be onto that one asap too!

The little turtle started out just as a chipboard and I coloured him in with just plain texta pens, drew his shell pattern on and just thought he was missing something. Then I remembered I had taken my twinkling H2o’s with me, so i coated him all over in green and now he really shimmers…

P1020190
ahhh that’s better he looks all mossy now.

I have two more card kits that I haven’t even started on, one has a feather in it even! I guess I’ll have a busy afternoon and what I don’t finish today I’ll have to put my Ugh Boots on and get stuck into after work this week!

Thanks for checking out this monster of a Paper-mates posting, hope you enjoyed it.

Mojo Pretty

Hello Everyone,

I had a lovely day yesterday at my monthly Papermates meeting, you can read all about it in the next post along and see some of the lovely cards that I made using swapped materials.

I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #193 for one of the cards yesterday and I think it turned out very Pretty Smile

P1020182

Here is the sketch for this week…
Mojo193Sketch

As you can see it can be a square or round card, but because I’m strange and different, I did a rectangular card!

I am out into Girlworld again this afternoon so may even be able to add a round Mojo to challenge this week. We’ll see how I go Smile

In the meantime – enjoy, and don’t forget to check out the next blog post for the papermates cards – they are all so different.

Annabelle sketch with a little Banana Custard thrown in…

Hello Everyone,

I see I have a couple more followers – thank you for joining me, I hope I can provide as much inspiration as I get from you in return.

Today I have made a card for the Annabelle Stamps Sketch Challenge #38  and as luck would have it is the perfect colour to enter into the Lollipop Ladies challenge too, which is themed on “Banana Custard” (YUM).
Even though my card is not themed – the colour is right! Vintage will have to wait till the next attempt!

Here it is….

P1020173

Oh look, I used my Annabelle Stamps “All Things Grow” set again! lol. There is one little element there that is not from that set, and it’s the little birdie which I’ve pinched from the Stampin Up “Bliss” set. I used some natural fibre papers and they kind of went well with the Fern leaf. The ink was Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink and I used some orange bling, because the yellow and gold ones just didn’t have any oomph.

Here is the sketch to use if you’d like to do it too click on it, it'll take you there. You can check out what the DT did with the sketch too - pretty awesome.

and the custard...
 I did say YUM!

As usual, I hope you like it Smile
