Love Fashion, Candy & Liebster Awards

Hi Everyone,

Well I have a rather large post for you today!
Three topics in all:-
First up – here is the fourth card that I wanted to share that hadn’t been blogged yet. I don’t know why really, because it’s very pretty. I used some tissues that had the dressmakers stand pattern on them and adhered them with PVA glue to some corrugated cardstock and then rolled back the tissue while it was wet to reveal the corrugations underneath and give a really vintage/shabby feel to it.

P1020456

I have then embellished with some buttons, ribbons, gems and scraps of lace & ric rac. The sentiments are just cut out letters and some tiny alphas. The whole lot is adhered to a black card base.
While I made this card some time ago, I think it suits the sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches, which looks like this…not far off!

TMS #139

Second item on the agenda…
Today I’m adding a single Copic Sketch pen in YR07 – because I seem to have two of them! i may have used it a little, but hardly at all - so it is pretty near full.

Copic YR07

I will be drawing this candy on Friday Night 30th March so get on over to My Candy post and put your name into Mr Linky at the bottom of the post for your chance to win!
Also get in and check out everything I have added since Monday - a post a day!

Last but most certainly not least is the Leibster Award

leibster blog award

Twice in the last couple of weeks I have been awarded the blog award, most recently from – Jennifer from My Cubby Crafts and before that by Pearl from Kitten Kraftz. I wanted to say thank you to both Pearl & Jennifer not only for the award but for their lovely comments and encouragement on my posts.
Thank You!

Here is the info on the Liebster Blog award:
This award is to draw attention to those blogs with under 200 followers so as to give others an opportunity to discover them and see why we enjoy following them. To encourage others to follow them as well.
Here are the rules for this award:
1. Show your appreciation to the person who gave you the award by thanking them and linking back to them.
2. Post the award to your blog.
3. Give the award to five other bloggers (with 200 followers or less) that you appreciate and follow.
4. Leave a comment on each of their blogs letting them know that you've chosen them for this award.
Liebster means "dearest" in German and I would love to share with you just a few of the blogs that I love to follow.

Now to officially hand this award over to another 5 well deserving people who also have blogs with under 200 followers. Here are the blogs I’ve chosen to pass this on to:-

1.  Tammy at http://tammyscrapincorner.blogspot.com.au/ – to say thanks for all your lovely comments and to encourage you in return. I love checking out what you’ve done each week as it’s always so versatile.

2. Mynette from On a Stampage, I love that blog name and Mynettes’ work is fabulous. She also is one of the great minds behind 52 Christmas Card Throwdown of which I am a regular player Smile Well done Mynette for getting so much done and always making comments on my blog to boot!

3. Jacqueline at http://deezinesart.blogspot.com.au/ who is also Mynettes’ partner in crime at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown!  Jacqueline has the most amazing cards, she is ingenious with colour and I love her home made pansies!

4.  Cardarian’s Happy Place is a place I visit quite often – she probably doesn’t know it because I’m not always commenting, I just like to check out what’s on her desk for the week! lol Sounds weird I know, but I quite often gain some inspiration from just looking at her workspace. So thank you to Cardarian for the isnpiration I gain from time to time.

5. Robbie at http://inkedx2.blogspot.com.au/ is always giving me inspiration, and she is a Stampin Up demonstrator too! I love that Robbie's blog is so neat and tidy and easy to navigate. I also love what she can do with a bit of ink and card – always beautiful.

So Thank You ladies, grab your Liebster Award above and post away – your turn to carry it on and celebrate 5 more bloggers each!

Well, that’s the end of a mammoth post, not as big as the one that will happen tomorrow night though – the Final Blog Candy Draw – Don’t miss it!

Oh, and follow me if you like, I have some amazing Stampin' Up cards to share with you after my first workshop as a demonstrator on Sunday. So Excited!

Cheers,

Christmas Card with MORE Blog Candy!

Hello Again,

Thanks for coming back! I made this Christmas card last year for my girlfriends’ daughter and while I did do a few in this style and post them at the time, I didn’t actually post this one. (I thought you were probably all sick of them by then!)

IMAG0100

Anyway this one is going to be entered in the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week which was to use Paper as an embellishment. Not sure that the HO HO HO is an embellishment, but it’s all I’ve got! Either way, it’s still a fun card with that candy cane hanging down in a ribbon sling.

The extra Candy for the Draw that is happening on Friday, March 30th is a selection of specialty papers. I have these coming out my ears as I am addicted to buying the discount packs at the fair.

P1030362_thumb

They are not really large peices, but big enough for card makers. The biggest peice is 12cmx16cm and the smallest is 10cm x 15cm. They are so very pretty though, with velvet on the brown one, glitter on a couple and shimmery flowers on another.
I just had to share Smile

So get on over to the My Candy post and put your name into the linky list at the bottom of the page for your chance to win them along with everything else in the Blog Candy Bag!

Only 2 sleeps until it’s drawn!

See you tomorrow with just a bit more.

Cheers, Vicki.

Top Note Box and More Candy!

Hello Again,

The Top Note box below was made with my good friend Trish and Treasure one day a few months back on a crafting day at her place, just the two of us.

P1030304P1030315

We used the tutorial on split coast stampers for the Heart Box and modified it to suit the Top Note die from Stampin’ Up.

P1030309P1030311

I love the Vintage look of this box. We’ve layered stiff cardboard with white card and then cut the Top Notes. It’s capable of cutting through quite thick items. (note – you can buy a Top Note Die from me if you live in Australia Smile

We made the sides from double sided paper, which was easier to manoeuvre into place than cardstock, and then decorated the box with beautiful papers, lace, ribbon, flowers, pearls and a big blue rhinestone!

Today I have played Tic Tac Toe at Card Crafters Circle and used the combination of Bling / Lace or Ribbon / Die Cuts.

Now, for the daily addition to My Candy

P1030360_thumb[2]

Keeping in the Vintage theme - This beautiful hand made flower, a vial of gold glitter and about a metre of gold twine should help your project get off to a Vintage look!

Wow, this Candy is getting huge and there’s still 3 days to go and 3 things to add!
If you’d like to be in it to win it –
- go to Mr Linky at the bottom of this post HERE and then Follow Me!

Well thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow with some more goodies to share and giveaway Smile

Card and Surprise Candy

Hi Everyone,

In view of my commencement as a Stampin’ Up demonstrator, I thought It best to clear the slate so to speak.  So I’m going to post everything that I haven’t already before getting stuck into my Stampin’ Up stuff. Starting with this Double Dutch Fold card…

P1030012

I’m  also going to Draw My Candy, but not before I add a couple of things to it. I have 5 things to add!

What better way than to do a post a day until Friday and show you all 1 card and add 1 item of Candy to the pile each day until then.

What would be really great – is if you’d follow me and round off my followers to 100.
(At the moment that means 9 followers I’d love to see sign up.)

This Double Dutch fold card opens outwards and upwards. The patterned paper was just asking for one of my hand made flowers.

P1030014

The little flaps at the bottom are held shut with a little piece of Velcro. A hidden magnet would have been better in hindsight, then you wouldn’t have an odd bit of Velcro sticking out in the middle of the card! lol. Told you there was one reason or another for not having posted these cards already! I'm going to share this card with all the lovely entrants at Make it Monday.

P1030013

Now for the addition to My Blog Candy….
P1030357_thumb

These  brand new nested Circle Dies are going in the bag for postage to the person who wins! Blog Candy will be drawn on Friday Night the 30th of March 2012 using Random.org If you’d like to win – follow me and put your name into the Linky List on this post HERE!

Thanks for popping by, see you tomorrow :)

I’m a STAMPIN’ UP Demonstrator!

Hi Everyone,
As stated in my previous post – I started a business, and yep, you guessed it!

It’s a STAMPIN’ UP business!

Their products are just so very easy to use, and I’m sure you have heard me say this before but… everything co-ordinates so wonderfully!

As you can see in the starter kit example picture below, ink pads, pens, card stocks, papers, ribbons and more - all co-ordinate! No more trying to match up colour with odd bits and peices of different collections.
There are also fantastic quality rubber stamps in either wood mounted or clear along with matching punches for some designs. Not to mention the range of Tools, Dies and Embossing Folders for the Big Shot machine - also sold by Stampin' Up.
The range is truly inspiring!

I absolutely love their motto…

To love what we do
and share what we love,
as we help others enjoy creativity
and worthwhile accomplishments . . .
in this we make a difference!
–Statement of the Heart

This is ME to a T! Sharing the love and enjoyment of being creative!

I am so keen to get stuck in that I’ve already got a Workshop booked for April 1st
You will see some changes on my blog over the coming days as
I add links and pictures and projects that I’m sure will show you
why I’ve decided to become a STAMPIN’ UP Demonstrator.

and while I do have a new STAMPIN’ UP BLOG for managing my business from,
I will continue to use this blog to post my cards and projects and do the sketch challenges that I enjoy so much.

I’d be happy to run a workshop for you if you are in my area. Or if you see something you really would like, but don't want to run a workshop - you are more than welcome to order it through me. You could even join me and become a demonstrator yourself! Lots of people join just to get the demonstrator discount on the products, which is an incentive just in itself - not to mention the starter kit shown above.

Well, that’s my news and I’ve shared it now!

Off to add some links to the sidebars so you can all check out the products for yourself in the Catalogues that are available to view online.

Hopefully not too much will change here style wise
and you can continue to enjoy my creations.

I got Published - Thank you!

Hi Everyone,

I just had to tell you all …. Issue 41 of Australian Simply Cards magazine published one of the cards that I had entered into the Australian Card Maker of the Year Competition for 2011! This is what the front cover looks like..

P1030347

If you turn to page 39, which looks like this…

P1030348

You’ll see my name in lights! lol (actually it’s spelt wrong, but I’ll take it Smile )

P1030350

I was absolutely stoked to receive some attention, even though I didn’t win or make runner up it sure was a pleasure to be highly commended on the pages of my favourite magazine.

So a thank you to the ladies at Australian Simply Cards who thought i deserved a little praise and congratulations to the winners, runners up and fellow highly commended entries.

I have some further news on the crafting front and a little business that I’m starting, so I will be back at the end of the week to let you know all about it.

Farewell my friend

Hi All,
Wanted to apologise for bing AWOL this last week ... my beautiful boy Solly had to be put to sleep yesterday as he has been having really bad seizures that were coming more and more frequently as time passed. He was 18 this year and apart from the seizures - a very healthy boy who weighed in the heaviest on record at our vets with a whopping 9 Kg at his best!

Here are some pictures in memory of Silly Solly Puss Cat...

Sitting by the door wanting out

Stealing the Boss's chair!

Rugged up in Winter

Lazing on all the furniture

Enjoying the heat off the bricks outside

We're all going to miss his antics around the house and pray that he'll be born into another of his 9 lives with a wonderful environment and people who love him. Farewell my friend, godspeed.

Papermates March 2012

Hi Everyone,
Welcome back to my blog, I have a lovely collection of cards to share with you…

P1030322

These cards were made from kits of materials supplied by the members of Papermates.
Papermates is a group of card making ladies who meet up once a month out at Mudgeeraba, Qld.

P1030327

The idea is to put a number of  kits together – all the same. Then you take that same number of everyone else’s kits on the day and make what you like with it.

P1030330

It’s a great way of seeing what someone else will do with the same items.

P1030334     P1030337

It’s also a great way of trying something with an item you wouldn’t necessarily buy. Kind of makes you step outside your comfort zone, which is great to do from time to time.

Thanks again for stopping by, hope you liked my collection.

Better yet, if you are the owner of the kit, I hope you like what I did with it and that it was something different to what you would do Smile

Have a great day! Vicki aka CardarTart xx

Thank You card

Hi Everyone,

I’m back as promised with my Mojo Monday card for the week. I’ve gone to town a little and sewn around bits with my machine, and embossed parts and cut out with spellbinders and layered and bradded and buttoned the card! lol

P1030321

These papers are retired Stampin Up papers, but the stamp is a current one called For Everything . These bits and pieces were supplied to me at Paper Mates this month – this kit being from Jane Norrish, my Stampin Up demonstrator.
Hope you like what I made with your bits Jane!

Here is the Mojo Sketch..
Mojo231Sketch

A great tip for Top Tip Tuesday is to layer the ribbon and pin it in place with a brad , that way you don’t have to be able to tie a pretty bow and you can have as many or as little loops as you like!

P1030320

I used a little Atyou Spica pen on the sentiment & swirls around the flower, just for a bit of bling Smile

I would like to share this card at the following challenges:-

Thanks for stopping by
p.s – blog candy here Smile

CAS Merry Christmas

Hi Everyone,

Just thought I’d share the card I made using the sketch

P1030316

Another Christmas Card done! Yay!

I’m not entirely happy with this card, it’s a bit too Clean And Simple for my tastes. I utilised a Kaiser Craft paper pack and basically put them straight onto the card front. There are no layers, which feels weird to me.
I had to add a ribbon to the tag, albeit a skinny piece of twine! lol.

Enjoy….don’t forget to enter my Blog Candy…and I’ll be back with
a Mojo Monday card before you know it!

Diamond Fold Birthday

Hi Everyone,

My lovely little Niece Erin turned 4 last week and this is the card I made for her.

P1030283

I used the tutorial from split coast stampers to get the Diamond Fold design.

P1030284

It’s a simple card, with just a rub on senitment, a popped up cupcake cutout and a doily cut in half for a pretty frame.

P1030285

A big pink ribbon held it all together. Erin’s favourite colour is pink.
Hope you like it, I’ll enter it for the following challenges.

Check out my Blog Candy while your here – You’ve gotta be in it to win it!

Happy Birthday and Stampin Up

Hi Everyone,
Well I’ve done my dash with “using it up”. I went shopping with a Stampin Up Catalogue!! These new colours and  papers were just to die for and I couldn’t resist the temptation.

P1030282

I’ve made this birthday card Using Up at least some of my old Stampin Up supplies, such as the Happy Birthday and the Fast & Fabulous flowers stamps. I did use my new ink colour – Calypso Coral from the 2011-2013 In Colour range, and a little soft suede on the flower outlines.

The papers are called Everyday Enchantment, this is the front and back of one design.
There are a couple of other new things on this card too. First of all, the ribbon border punch, then the little frame is an SU embossing folder and I’ve cut out the embossed section inside and out. Thirdly, the cardstock – I really like how Stampin Up co-ordinates all the colours, the ink / cardstock / designer paper.
Everything just goes together beautifully.

Gosh I sound like an advertisement for Stampin Up! lol
There is ONE item on this card that isn’t SU – a little ribbon from my stash!

Seriously though, I’m thinking of joining them and becoming a demonstrator
– what do you think?

I used the Mojo Monday sketch for the week……turned sideways Smile
Mojo230Sketch

I’d also like to enter into the following challenges…
Enjoy and I’ll be back in a day or so with a little diamond fold card for you Smile
In the meantime, feel free to enter my Blog Candy HERE – Thanks.
