Stationery Set Friend

Hi Everyone,

Well it’s the last day of the financial year here in Australia, so I thought I’d post this stationery set to inspire you, it’s one of the tutorials on split coast stampers and surprisingly easy to make with wonderful results! An address book, tags and 4 cards are what I filled mine with.

P1030615

The case itself is made from double sided paper that is nice and sturdy – I used a retired Stampin’ Up paper. It’s been decorated using some flowers from my stash and the Vintage Vogue Stamp set – yes folks, I do love Vintage Vogue, I use it quite often!

P1030611

Take the lid off and the front flap folds down to reveal a delightful array of goodies inside…

P1030614

These tags are perfect for pressies…

P1030616

and the cards are great for keeping in touch with friends…

P1030624

Of course, you have to be able to find your friends addresses…

P1030618

I used some old exercise book paper to make the pages inside..

P1030619

Hope you enjoyed my little project today that I’m sharing with you, I’ll also share it at..

21st Birthday Card for a Man

Yes, he is now a Man!
Happy Birthday to my nephew Jason – he is off partying hard in Surfers Paradise with his mates for his birthday so I haven’t actually given him this card yet! Bless him, he’s usually such a good boy it’s good to see him mucking around a bit Smile
P1030607

I used the Mojo Monday sketch for a bit of inspiration and went to town with textures for this card. I used the Simply Scored tool to make a diamond pattern on Crumb Cake CS and then swiped a Not Quite Navy ink pad over the raised areas – very roughly. I also used a pile of brads and string and faux stitching and wild drawing to make the circle in the pattern. I went a bit wild with the drawing and covered it up with a circle of Not Quite Navy CS. The colours have come up a bit funny in my photograph, they are matted onto black, but it kind of looks blue? Anyway, here’s the sketch…
Mojo247Sketch

The numbers were random chipboards found in my stash and I coated them with some So Saffron ink and then stamped the floral pattern from the Hello Friend stamp set over that with Not Quite Navy ink and then..embossed the top with clear embossing powder to make it shiny. See..
P1030609

Well I hope you like my Mojo Monday card this week. I'm also going to enter it for My Mojo Monthly Challenge at La-De-Dah, as the theme is Man Up
I look forward to sharing some more stuff soon.

I guess it was an omen!

Hi Everyone,

I made a couple of gorgeous flowers with the Blossom Petals Builder punch and decided to do his and hers get well cards with them using the sentiment from the Word Play stamp set. Well that was two days ago and today – I’m laid up in bed SICK!!!!
(I’ll have to keep the pink one for myself I think!)

P1030606

Some gorgeous Stampin’ Glitter – Dazzling Diamonds really shines in the centres….

P1030602

The pink one is Stamped with Rose Red and Melon Mambo inks and the blue one is stamped with Pool Party and Island Indigo. The Build a Blossom stamp set that matches the punch is a two step stamp, and works brilliantly with light and dark colours of similar tones.

P1030605P1030604

When I say two step – It means you have two stamps for each petal, the stamps are designed so that there is a base and an overlay. They are lined up one on top of the other using the Stamp-a-ma-Jig tool, using a light tone on the base and dark tone on the overlay. Well I hope this inspires you to give two step stamping a try, It’s a pretty simple design but I think that’s what makes it so eye catching.

I'll share these card at Make It Monday this week and hopefully not share my cold !

Prayer Card

Hi Everyone,

A friend of mine has received some traumatic news in relation to the health of a loved one and I made this card to let her know that she is not alone.
P1030598

The cross was hand cut so it’s a little wonky, but hey – nothings perfect is it? It’s been embossed with the Lattice Square Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from retired set that I fail to have the name of, but it fits perfectly in the Word Window!

This lovely Wisteria Wonder coloured paper from the  Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper pack has been machine sewn onto the matching cardstock – gotta love Stampin’ Up for their co-ordination of colours across the whole range, it makes things so very easy!

P1030599

The flower was made using the Blossom Petals Builder punch and some cardstock scraps in Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White. A few pearls added to the centre and quick misting of Shimmer Paint Mist and a lovely flower is born.

I’ve used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week, well almost!

         FMSketch 40

Thanks for checking it out and I look forward to entertaining you some more next week.
Why so long you ask? Well, End of Financial Year for us bookkeepers means I’ll be busy this week doing Payroll EOY for 4 different clients! Yep – busy, busy, busy earning some dollars in order to spend some dollars! lol

Have a great week now, I know I will (sarcasm)

Hello Card

Hello Hello Hello fellow crafty people,

It’s Mojo time again and here is my bright Real Red card…

P1030595

The Adorning Accents Edgelits die and matching embossing folder are perfect for the Fancy Frills challenge at SUO Challenges. The border stamp from Vintage Vogue alongside the gorgeous satin pleated ribbon really adds to the frills. A little embossing with Manhattan Flower is swiped over with White Shimmer Paint for added interest.
this is the Mojo Monday sketch this week…

Mojo246Sketch

I’ve made another flower, this time using the 5 Petal punch. A little spray of my home made Shimmer Paint Spritz and sparkles galore! Check it out close up…

P1030596

A Pair of Twittery Bird Cards

Hi Everyone,

Well – here it is – the post I’ve been promising for days! lol I recently received a new order from Stampin’ Up which included a pile of items I’d been drooling over in the catalogues for some time and finally, with the help of some Birthday money, was able to buy myself.

One of which was the Elegant Bird Bigz die! Here it is…

P1030528

I’ve used the some old DP and cut a whole pile of different patterned papers with the two different elements on the die – bird & wing, then mixed and matched the papers. The first card (above) used a pile of different products and I really love the Antique Brads that I purchased, they go so well with the Victoria Lace Ribbon.

P1030526

For the second card, I utilised my new Scoring Tool – it’s called Simply Scored and it comes with 1/8” score tracks, OR you can buy an adapter plate with 1cm score tracks, which suits me as I’m a bit of a metric girl and all those inches do my head in!
Well I’ll be off to play with my Simply Scored and make some of those lovely scored pinwheel flowers I see all over the place.

The Elegant Bird is part of the Twitterpated Suite of products that are found in the current Winter Mini Catalogue. You only have until July 31st to buy this one so – pull your finger out and place your order today! Contact me anytime, anyhow to place your order. All my contact details are on my Stampin Up Website.

I absolutely love this die and look forward to using it with some fabric too – perhaps to decorate a cushion cover or quilt (now I’m really dreaming – quilt? I’m not that good! lol)

I'd like to share these cards with the world, so will enter a few challenges I think

Summery Christmas Card

Hi Everyone,

Well, I’ve been making Christmas Cards all year and I thought, this is Australia – we don’t have snow and cold weather at Christmas time! Then I saw the challenge at SUO Challenges this week – Bright Summer Days. Perfect! a Bright Summery Christmas Card that all my Aussie mates will appreciate.

P1030543

Poor wee Dasher looks a bit lost in all this heat, he’s been clear embossed and sponged over with Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight and Real Red inks. I’ve used the Square Lattice & Finial Press embossing folders, as well as the lovely Pleated Satin Ribbon that is in the current Winter Mini Catalogue.

I also wanted to have a play with my new “Simply Scored” the scoring tool – also in the current Winter Mini Catalogue - and what better way than to make one of the ever popular concertina fold flowers. I just used Cream cardstock and sponged it with the same colours as the rest of the card.

P1030546

I put the sentiment on the leaf – it’s punched using Blossom Petals Builder punch. I knew that punch would come in handy! The centre of the flower is from the matching Stamp Set. The other thing I’ve done, and I don’t know if you can see it in the little pic above, but I sprayed some home-made Shimmer Paint Mist all over this baby! Just because it’s a Summer Christmas, doesn’t mean it don’t sparkle! lol

I utilised the sketch at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week. Finally have had a chance to get one in on time.

Don’t forget the Winter Mini finishes July 31st  so get your orders in before it’s gone!

Have a great day, evening, night whatever it may be in your neck of the woods.

Hello Hello Hello

Is there an echo in here? lol

Seriously, Hello there:-

P1030541

I used the roller stamp from Stampin’ Up called Take a Sip and some Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake Card Stock and then used my Stampin’ Write pens or a Water Pen with ink to colour the tea cups in or outline them.
The other stamp I used, and I’m not sure if it was designed to go with Take a Sip, but it works for me. It’s the singleton stamp available from Stampin’ Up called Share A Cup and I cut it out using the XL Oval punch.

cqc139

I used the colours from the Colour Q Challenge this week.

Hope you like it, it sure was fun to make.

Ornate Blossom Card

Hi Everyone,

I have a lovely card to share showing some embossing, sponging, stamping, Big Shot die cutting, ribbon, coloured cardstock and some wonderful designer papers!

P1030536

Here the Ornate Blossom stamp was embossed with clear onto designer paper – the opposite side to the flowers underneath – and then sponged with Early Espresso ink to make the pattern stand out. I love how the embossed area is left bright and cheery. A circle was cut around it and it was matted onto Calypso Coral Cardstock circle that is just a fragment bigger.

I utilised the sketch at the Paper Players this week which was put together by LeAnne – thank you Smile

PP Sketch 97

Pretty close huh! I layered up all the elements with Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade Cardstock. Wrapped a little Whisper White grosgrain ribbon around it finished with a bow. The whole lot is then adhered to a Whisper White card base.

P1030539

I also used the colours from the challenge at Create with Connie & Mary this week, which were…

CCMC204

Lucky for me, Stampin’ Up co-ordinates papers with ink colours and just happened to have a paper that covered all those colours! It’s from the Berry Blossoms pack.

How do you like my little tag there – it was cut using Big Shot and the Lots of Tags Sizzlit Die Set and stamped with a sentiment from the hostess set called Perfect Words. Perfect indeed!

P1030540

I just love these tags!

So glad to share this with you today, I always love to hear what people think of my cards so, feel free to make a comment or a suggestion.
