Quick Boys Birthday Card

Hi Everyone,

I’m back with a Mojo Monday #208 Sketch Challenge and this time I wanted to do something simple that I could do at my little table in the lounge room with minimal mess while my husband was away till late at night. (Girl World is accessed from the driveway and is a little dangerous to sit out there at night by myself – which is really frustrating!)

P1020587

I’ve also got a couple of boys birthdays coming up, so put the Mojo sketch to use and made this cute card with a pre-bought card blank, some patterned papers and a couple of rub-ons’. He was just begging for a googly eye too!

Mojo208Sketch

This is the Mojo sketch this week, but it was all a bit straight for me and as I am hopeless at getting things straight I thought I’d just make crooked work lol!

P1020586

Using the leftovers I decorated the inside of the card, also with crooked style!

Hope you like my card today, I’ll be out to Girl World later and will have more to post later in the week. Want to get some embossing done today and have a little fun with techniques not tried perhaps.

Ciao for now…

Dinomite Mojo

Hello, I’m back again – I know – so soon!

I’ve created a cute card for my nephew Eden’s First Birthday and used this sketch from Mojo Monday

Mojo207Sketch

I don’t know if you’ve been back to my earliest posts on this blog, but I was determined to be “consistent” with my blogging and card making. I made a vow to myself that I would Always get my Mojo Monday sketch done!

Well – hasn’t quite happened that way, but I’m not disappointed. I may have fallen off the Mojo Monday wagon for a few weeks – but I’m exploding back onto the scene with this Dinomite birthday card…

P1020571

...using the free papers and stamp set from one of the magazines’s that I buy (possibly Australian Simply Cards, but don’t quote me on that!). Pretty awesome stamp set too!

I’ve also used one my Nellie’s Multiframe dies – isn’t it awesome!
Also used Copic pens to colour in the green parts and a water brush and SU Tangerine Tango to colour the horns, toes, tongue and to ink the edges of the layers.  (Note my practice sewing on the layers underneath? Gawd don’t! It’s apalling – I really need to practice on that! lol.)

Have a great week, and I may be back in a day or so with a Case Study Challenge for you, but Ciao for now…

Woven Good Times

Hi Everybody,

Well it’s certainly busy in girl world this week-end, plenty of time for experimenting with a few things I’ve been wanting to try – fun fun.

This is my first make this week-end, and I made it using the sketch at Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. It’s enticed me to try weaving!

P1020583

I love how this card turned out! I used a paper pack from Kaiser for the woven papers as they co-ordinated and the background paper is from a wonderful pack of My Minds Eye papers I collected from somewhere.

The stamp is a set that I don't know the name of (as usual, threw out the wrapper!) and I had stamped a pile of these for another card, this is just scrap of paper left over.

I had to mix some ink colours together on my craft sheet to get the right shade. ( I think it's Ranger Broken China mixed with SU Garden Green lol)

P1020581

A Chipboard sentiment from my stash finished it off. Can you see the embossing on the card I used for the horizontal part - I thought that was pretty darn clever!

I’ll also enter this at Our Craft Lounge Challenge #84 who are wanting to see Patterned Papers...mmm love patterned papers!

I’m also entering into the Fussy and Fancy Challenge which is to try a new technique.  Weaving is certainly new to me, and while I enjoyed doing it, I think there may be some room for improvement. A smaller weave for instance may look a little more effective. You gotta try tho right?

I’ll be back with another post to soon, but, Ciao for now!

Male Birthday Card

Hi Everyone,
I’ve made this lovely card for my old boss who’s invited me to a BBQ at his home to celebrate this year.

P1020567

People are always saying that masculine cards are hard to do, but I beg to differ.

I guess I’m just not a “girly girl” and find these colours and themes pleasing. I am a bit of a rev head having grown up with my mechanic father and my drag racing brother and now married to a motor dealer, I guess cars are in the blood for me!

P1020569

I decorated the inside too this time – my label wasn’t quite big enough so I used two. I put a Kaiser rub on sentiment inside.
I’ve also stamped the back of the card with this Handmade by Vicki personalised stamp that I ordered on Ebay, cute isn’t it!

P1020570

The card was a Kaiser gloss black base ( a little slippery to stamp directly onto as you can see). I made the sentiment from Kaiser little alphas and papers. The other papers are bits and pieces I had floating around from a bigger sheet that I’d used previously (the name is gone sorry). A chipboard ‘blingy’ thing was also found in my stash that fitted the spot perfectly.

Hope you like it… I’m sure there is a challenge around somewhere this qualifies for…let me see…
My rectangular card is certainly not square so its in at the cards for men challenge blog.

The Crazy Challenge blog has a Men Only theme – perfect!

and My Partner in Crafting Crime blog has a Planes, Trains & Automobiles theme – I loved that movie!

Well that’s it from me today – Have a good one and I’ll be back again soon. Ciao for now xx

More Christmas Cards

Hi Everyone,

I’ve made another set of Christmas cards, and wanted to share them with you. The last set I made was based on Red card, so this set is based on Green card.

Once again I’ve made 4 cards with one sheet of double sided paper raided from my Christmas stash (which is overflowing the one bag now …oops…note to self – stop shopping!).

P1020465

I’ve got some close ups below – of three of them anyways!

P1020461

I started out simply stamping onto the patterned paper (can you see the pointy christmas tree beneath the die cut tree?) Anyway, the paper was too strong a pattern and the stamp too fine lined, so i stuck another tree over it and carried on. The little pressies are stamped on card, cut out and stuck on. The pressie stamp and the Peace sentiment are both on the same set from Kaiser Craft last year.

P1020459

This one is the same with the stamped tree – at this stage I decided some glitter wouldn’t go astray on that and did both of them! I used some burgundy coloured brads here instead of stamped pressies.

P1020460

This one I used the other side of the paper and added some lace and a row of pressies stamped on card that was bordered with scallops.
You’ll notice the corners have been die cut with my favourite find at the fair – a little die that cuts four different corners at once!
I hope you like them, I will share them over at Make it Monday Smile

Ciao for now

Fun and Happiness at Annabelles Birthday Celebrations

Hello Everyone,

I’m back with my Third Annabelle Stamps Birthday Celebrations Challenge card. The challenge today was to have 2 “b” embellies on your card – well I went for overkill as usual and as I wasn’t sure if 2 Balloons counted so I add 2 Bling just to make sure – as you do!

P1020549

This cute Teddy Bear stamp is from a free gift on the Do Crafts Magazine and it’s called Tatty Teddy. He has a few stitches and patches here and there poor thing, but the sentiment is very bright..

P1020547

I did a bit of dry embossing on this card, and even though I got the folder back to front on the bottom layer, i think the impressions look just as nice as the raised dots. I’ll have to make that mistake on purpose next time lol.

Wishing you fun & happiness on your special day Annabelle!

ps…special thanks to my friend Trish for the Balloons Smile

Best Wishes Annabelle

Back Again – and Best Wishes this time for Annabelle Stamps Birthday – they share the birthday with my Mum, so I might give this lovely card to Mum for her Birthday.

This is the second challenge in Annabelle Stamps Birthday Celebrations – Flowers & Blooms is the subject this week.

P1020539

My favourite flower stamp has been stamped twice and the second copy cut out and layered to give a little dimension. The Best Wishes sentiment was stamped onto a Kaiser die cut – it’s part of the 6” paper pack ‘Tea at Elsie’s’, as is the die down the left side of the flower and the background paper with shiny flowers on it.

I guess I have enough flowers and blooms here to well and truly qualify!

P1020540

I don’t know about you, but I’ve gone to use a card I have made only to find it is too dark to write in! I’ve decided that all my dark coloured cards must now have a label inserted to write on!

Problem solved – have a good week, hopefully I’ll be back before the 15th when this challenge finalises.

Would be pretty awesome to win the prizes on offer.
Have a great day Smile

Stampin up a Storm Pack 4

Hello Again, a bit of a busy start to the week with work delayed me from sharing the last and final project from last Saturday’s paper mates meeting.

It’s shame you had to wait so long.....this project is a gorgeous “Tag Book”.

P1020506

An ingenious little flap on both the inside of the pocket and the tag itself prevent the tag from coming out of the book entirely. (It kinda reminded me of ‘monkey grip"’ lol)

P1020496          P1020499

Each tag has it’s own stamped image which matches the theme of the papers used too.

I used the template provided with the project kit to make the pockets from designer papers.

P1020498           P1020497

Once again all the products used are from Stampin Up (except perhaps the Bind Mate machine used to punch the holes and the spiral spine of the book).

P1020494

I followed the directions of Jane Norrish, my Stampin Up demonstrator to put this together. She is so very talented and deserves all the credit!

I’ll be sharing this Tag Book with the girls at My Time to Craft Challenge Blog. It’s a JFF Challenge and the theme for Challenge #156 is Just Between Friends. Now I don’t know if you can see it, but the very first tag in the book has the word “friends” stamped on the bottom corner.

Ciao for now..see you in a day or so with some more Christmas Cards yay!

Stampin up a Storm–Pack 3

Hello Again,

Well – here is the third project from my All day Stampin Up a Storm paper mates meeting on Saturday and isn’t it adorable!

P1020487

A ‘Hat’ trinket box.

P1020485               P1020484
It is decorated inside & out!

P1020490

I just adore it!

Once again it is all Stampin up products, and the credit goes to Jane Norrish for all I did was assemble it from her instructions.

Since it’s now a new week, I’ll share this over at Make it Monday – Bonus too as it’s their Birthday and they’re having a Blog Hop – so check it out!

Been a big day at work so will save Project 4 for tomorrow night.
Ciao for now Smile

Stampin Up a Storm–Pack 2

Hello Again,

Here’s the items made in Pack 2 of my Stampin up a Storm fun day.

First up we used a “Petite Pocket” die to cut some cardstock, then the fabulous “Designer Frames” embossing folder to make this gorgeous raised frame for our Sentiment. These two items are definitely on my wish list!

P1020474      P1020475

Then we made two gorgeous cards – they speak for themselves really and they’re all purely Stampin Up products!

P1020476      P1020477

The lace border punch above is another favourite, as is the Shimmer Paint that has been used on the butterfly above and the flower below.

 P1020478     P1020481

The flower was stamped three times and cut down in size for the top two layers. Then sprayed with shimmer paint
– man that stuff – well – it shimmers!

Once again ALL credit to Jane Norrish – my wonderful Stampin Up demonstrator.

Be back again shortly with pack 3.

In the meantime enjoy – I’ll share this over at Make it Monday I’m sure it will get lots of comments!

See you soon Smile

Stampin up a Storm–Pack 1

Hi Everyone,

I had a brilliant day yesterday with Jane Norrish and her Stampin up a Storm at my monthly Paper-mates meeting.
Everything you see made here today uses totally Stampin Up products!

P1020466       P1020469

It’s an adorable “piggy bank” made using the Stampin up Milk Carton die as the basis.

This is one of many items that were assembled in a frenzy of 4 different project packs to complete in celebration of the newly released catalogue – I was at it from 9am till 4pm, but I got them all done, and with only a few little boo boos Smile

These gorgeous little gift cards were part of the same pack!

P1020470_thumb

        P1020471_thumb      P1020472_thumb

How easy is it when all the items co-ordinate? The stamps, the inks, the cardstock, the buttons – all the right colours and sizes!

P1020473_thumb

I will enter these into a couple of JFF challenges to show them off, and as they are not my designs – all I did was put them together – I’ll not go for any prizes.

Will share at Inspire Me Fridays for this post.

ALL the credit should go to Jane Norrish who organised our day for us and we had a fantastic time – Thank you Jane. If you see anything here that you like, I’m sure Jane can help you get it – Contact her here.

That’s it for the first pack – I’ll share the next pack shortly Smile

Ciao for now...
