My Mojo 171 is ready to go..

Hi All,

Well I've done my Mojo this week in a spurt of creativity, and I even remembered to jot down the names of the products I used - how good am I?

Here it is...

Now for the products used:

The cardstock is from my DCWV Textured Stack Nuetrals in a nice orangish shade, along with a pale metallic blue card that I bought from the newsagent a while ago that I have matted on the smaller squares. I've used Stampin Up smooth cardstock in cream for the stamped backgrounds and the sentiment.

On the large background square I used the "Tres Chic" background stamp also from Stampin Up.

The paper matted onto the smaller squares is from Kaiser's Tea at Elsies collection which was my inspiration colour wise for this card,

The medium sized square on the front was stamped with my Stampin Up Jumbo roller using the "Friendly Words" roller. I;ve also chalked over a stencil with some apricot coloured chalk and put some Kaiser bling in a bright blue around the edges of the design. It's a little hard to see in the photo, but the bling kinda draws your eye to the chalky pattern.

The sentiment is also from Stampin Up and is from the "Perfect Punches" collection. It will look a whole lot better when I finally get the punch that matches this stamp, in the meantime I've just cut around it with scissors.

Stampin Up Bright Blue ink was my choice for all the stamped images.I've also edged most of the pieces with either Bright Blue ink or an orangish coloured ink that I had in my stash.

The ribbon I've tied in a double bow using a Martha Stewart piped nylon 3/8" ribbon in apricot.

That's it I think. Hope you all like it.

Absolutely the last Christmas Card!

At least until next year he he.

Here's the one I was talking about - just too nice not to show you.

That gold embossing powder is awesome - I can't stop playing with it he he.  Here I've used it directly on the patterened paper (which is from one of Kaiser's Christmas packs). The diamonds is a Stampin Up stamp as is the sentiment. There's a little gold ribbon on the edge too.

Hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas and I look forward to shareing the New Year with you all in cards!

Mojo Monday 170

Yay - I made it before the next Mojo is due to be done and I'm still being consistent - amazing.

I am a little over Christmas Cards on this Christmas Eve (althought I do still have one more to post that looks fantastic - received an unexpected card in the mail and thought I really should reply)

Anyway, this is my Mojo for this week - some lime green and chocolate was in order for a change. I have embossed the lime green card with a cuttlebug embossing folder and used a gorgeous rub-on from Kaiser.

Hope you like it :)

Just one more Christmas Card!

Last minute panic - with all those darn cards I made I was still one short!

I picked up some gold embossing powder a few days ago, and this was a perfect opportunity to try it out. It's always a little hard to get a good photo of the shiny stuff, but I think it came up okay. Stampin up Stamp and card in rich razzleberry and old olive. Looks great. I used a gel pen to put fake stitching around the razzleberry mat. I had a snowflake stamp from a different set (unknown) and embossed them onto the background. I quite like the effect.

Busy Busy Busy is what I've been!

We had a new addition to the family recently also, so another card was needed ( like I need an excuse!)

Made this one for my newest little cousin Harper. I think I saw this design somewhere else and just loved it.

This was so so easy to wack together, a little torn edged paper inked up with a similar blue to the card and some paper shapes layered. You can't really see the colours, but the glitter paper sure stands out!

For Dad

Gee have I been busy, it's my Dad's birthday today and had to make something quick quick quick for him.
Don't know where I'd be without Stampin Up I tell you...made this quick card with Stampin Up stamps, paper and some ribbon and a brad from my own stash. I'll post up the paper & stamps used when I get a chance to get back out to "Girl World" tomorrow and write down their names.
Here's the card I made for him, hope you like it....

Mojo Monday #169

More madness is at hand because I've done two cards with the sketch from Mojo Monday this week I liked it so much!

The first one...

And then because I found my perfect pearls, I did this one. I love the ballerina's too and have been dying to use this stamp.

The perfect pearls really shine!

Christmas Card Madness...

Hi All,

Well over the last few days I have gone completely nuts on the Christmas Card front and thought I'd post a few of the beauties I've made for friends and family this year. So here goes...
First of all - my first time ever doing some decoupage..

And now for some plain cards...

And finally back to my friendly little Popcorn the Bear....

I guess that's about it for Christmas for me this year. I did quite a few copies of each of the plain cards and just a select few of the others.

Hope you gain some inspiration - I have taken it wherever I could find it, so if you see something here that is similar to what you've done yourself, maybe I might have been peeking at your blog. Just remember that imitation is the greatest form of flattery!

Lots of Hugs for Mojo Monday's 168

Well I finally pulled my finger out this week, and after 20 odd christmas cards, decided I needed a change.

This is my submission for Mojo Monday this week. I really liked this sketch and got to use my Big Shot to do some embossing (embossing folders being all I have as yet, but hey, christmas IS coming!)

I actually know the name of the paper I used as a background here, It's Dega Views Sharon Anne collection and the design is Soft Floral on Purple.  I love this paper, it's a shame I only have one sheet.

I have also used a Rosie's Studio chipboard tag.

As I've said before, I don't always know the names of the products I've used, we got lucky tonight though coz I hadn't unwrapped these ones yet.

I think my biggest demise so far with card making (which i've been doing for about 6 months), is getting things straight! If anyone has any tips on how to mat things straightly i'd appreciate them!

Mojo 167 - More Popcorn

Hi again, Well now - true to my promise, here is a card I made using the Popcorn Bear stamp I received free with my magazine purchase of crafters companion as mentioned below.
I have used my own cardstock and papers - because I unwrap everything to store it I have no idea where the papers came from. I have used Stampin up inks from my handy little set of stampin spots in classic colours.
This bear is so cute, i reckon I'm gonna get a lot of use out of it!

I have also used the design provided by Mojo Monday for Mojo 167 and will submit this card to their challenge for the week.

Now I'm off to down a lemsip and have a nanna nap... this flu is really tiring me out!

Christmas Bear

Hi everyone, I have been at home sick with the flu for a few days (sniff sniff, cough cough), but have taken the opportunity to put together this card of a Christmas Bear. I snagged this little guy (who's name is Popcorn) from a magazine that I bought recently in the hopes of inspiring some Christmas cards to give away this year. The magazine is Crafters Companion - make christmas cards special issue.

I have followed one of the card recipes in the book, and changed it to suit my own style. The front panel is folded back on one side and I adhered the mat with popcorn decoupage on it to the front so that it would stand up behind the sentiment.  This magazine was awesome, with free papers and a pack of stamps of Popcorn, so I will endeavour to make quite a few more to show you. Hope you like it.

Mojo 166

Here is my submission for the week to Mojo Monday's card challenge.

So far I'm being consistent, which is a good thing.

I have used Kaiser Craft's Christmas paper pack (sorry can't remember the name of the pack), ribbon and some blingy stars.

This card is simple and was very quick to make. Kaiser just makes it too easy.

Shareing my Mojo

Hi to anyone who is reading this,

I have decided to try and be consistent, and to do so, I need to post something each week. What better way to start, than by picking a weekly task that will give me reminders to do them!

I have chosen Mojo Mondays blog - mainly because it gives me till Sunday night to do the project each week, and because it has an awesome amount of people posting to it which I found really inspirational!

Here is my contribution for this week. I have knocked it up out of a pile of scrap fancy home made papers that I picked up at the Reject Shop along with some Stampin Up Smooth Card in Early Espresso and the Fabolous Friend stamp from Stampin Up's Oval All set of stamps.

Check it out for yourself, maybe this is something you'd enjoy doing yourself. You can find Mojo Monday in my list of blogs I'm following below. (I hope)

Thanks for looking!

Card Art Tart's practice post - first one!

I made this card for my good friend's son on his 15th birthday.

All the items I used were from Kaiser Craft.
(Paper, Rub-Ons, Mini Letter stickers, brads and Chipboard numbers.)
The stars were cut out from the paper and layered onto cardboard to give them some strength to stand out on dimensional tape.
I really like the torn effect and layering of different papers.

I think he liked it, but who knows with teenage boys!
