Rubbing it on for Sandie

Hi All, sorry if that heading sounds a bit rude, but hey, you get that!

The one thing I nearly didn't have in my stash due to a pre-Christmas clean out and a lot of my rub-ons were set hard and thrown out! (this is due to my lack of a storage solution and my incessant meddling when it is new just to pull it out of wrapper and check it out! ) I promised myself that I would not open the packet in future until I was ready to use it. Plastic wrapping is after all - see through!

Anyway, over at Sandie's place  there's a challenge on to use Rub Ons - so here is my card with the last remaining rub-ons in my stash! If you want to join in too - here's the link to Sandie's Place.

These white rub-ons were all corner lace motifs, unfortunately a couple of them were damaged, so I used the two good ones in the top corners and then thought it needed something extra, so I used the good parts of the two left to line the bottom of the leaf and highlight a little flower I made. The large flower I made too - very proud of them. If you would like to learn how to make these flowers, check out Valita's Designs & Fresh Folds - she has some awesome tutorials!

I left if free of sentiment so It could be multi-purpose.

Mojo 173 Love

Yep, It's love for Mojo this week and it took it's sweet time coming too - it's nearly time for the next Mojo!


Here's my card for this week - Love - Love the colours, Love the Mojo sketch, Love the paper and Love that I got to use those cute little blue blingy hearts that have been falling out of their bag for several months now and driving me nuts.

I have to say that I'll dedicate this card to all the people in Queensland and beyond being affected by flooding at the moment. I can't imagine how devastating they must feel having lost everything they own and even some of them their lives, or the lives of loved ones. I have been in tears all week watching the news and also been scared to death that it will just keep raining and the flooding will extend to where I live - a mere 80 Klms south of Brisbane! So my love to all of those suffering, and prayers of thanks that my Grandma's house in the Lockyer Valley is on somewhat of a hill.

My First Digi & Corrosive Challenge #97

I liked the idea of Purple & Yellow - they're two of my favourite colours!
Another thing that is outside the norm for me is using a "digi" stamp.

Although the freebie I used and the current freebie will probably be different. It took me a while to decide to use it. I have coloured it in with watercolour pencils - which looks a bit lame compared to the girls using copics - must do a class with them and see if I'm any good at it. Gawd forbid I could quite easily gain another addiction with copics - and an expensive one at that! Here's my card anyways....

Vintage Card Class at J.A.M

Well, as promised yesterday, here are the pictures of the cards I made at the class with Jackie.

I do recall that some of the papers are made by Websters Pages and that I love the lace and glitter and flowers sprayed with Tattered Angels stuff.

Now because the devil is in the details I'm gonna post some close ups of all those lovely bits...

 

One of these days I'll figure out how to move all these pictures into the spots I want them!

Sorry it's all a bit out of kilter, but you can see them at least.

I really enjoyed doing this class, my friend Trish came along too and had some child free time during this school holidays. I think she really appreciated it.

Magical Mojo #172

Finally pulled my finger out and got my Mojo on for the week.

Was inspired today by some Vintage cards I made at a class - I'll show you them later (gorgeous!), for now, here is my Mojo Monday 172 Sketch.

I have used cream cardstock and inked the edges with Stampin Up "Pumpkin Pie" orange.

Then matted a distressed edge Kaiser paper for the background, from the Empire Collection, inked on the edges with a combo of "certainly celery" and "marina mist" to kind of tie into the colour of the sentiment backing.

The sentiment is stamped from a Rosie's Studio clear stamp set, as is the Fairy.
The orange patterned paper (also edged with the same combo),  were used today in my class at J.A.M (see later post for details of class done), anyway I've no idea what the paper was called but had these left over.

There's a little bauble ribbon under the sentiment that was in my stash and the pearl flourish was from Kaiser.

Beautiful Flowers on Lattice

Hi Blog-land,

Today I have been having a blast making these gorgeous Lattice front cards. I have been inspired by another blog and this amazing lady who owns it even gives tutorials. Her name is Valita and here is a link to her blog so you can try it out for yourself!

Among other things on Valita's blog that I love are the flowers decorating the lattice. I am going to be back with Valita for a few more lessons in other gorgeous crafty cardy things for sure!

Here's what I made today...

 

The blue flowers have a little perfect pearls on them - of course! and the red/pink ones have a bit of glitter. I used a spellbinders die (labels 4) to cut the window on each of them. The Yellow card has been embossed with the budding vine embossing folder and the a bosskut flourish used as stems. The green card was stamped with ink boutiques memoirs and a little crepe paper used as stems.The cards are all from my Stacks.
