Stationery Set Friend

Hi Everyone,

Well it’s the last day of the financial year here in Australia, so I thought I’d post this stationery set to inspire you, it’s one of the tutorials on split coast stampers and surprisingly easy to make with wonderful results! An address book, tags and 4 cards are what I filled mine with.

The case itself is made from double sided paper that is nice and sturdy – I used a retired Stampin’ Up paper. It’s been decorated using some flowers from my stash and the Vintage Vogue Stamp set – yes folks, I do love Vintage Vogue, I use it quite often!

Take the lid off and the front flap folds down to reveal a delightful array of goodies inside…

These tags are perfect for pressies…

and the cards are great for keeping in touch with friends…

Of course, you have to be able to find your friends addresses…

I used some old exercise book paper to make the pages inside..

Hello Card

Hello Hello Hello fellow crafty people,

It’s Mojo time again and here is my bright Real Red card…

The Adorning Accents Edgelits die and matching embossing folder are perfect for the Fancy Frills challenge at SUO Challenges. The border stamp from Vintage Vogue alongside the gorgeous satin pleated ribbon really adds to the frills. A little embossing with Manhattan Flower is swiped over with White Shimmer Paint for added interest.

I’ve made another flower, this time using the 5 Petal punch. A little spray of my home made Shimmer Paint Spritz and sparkles galore! Check it out close up…

Mojo Strikes Again!

Hi Everyone,

I’ve got to say – Mojo Monday Strikes Again with an awesome sketch challenge!

I’ve been using up the Designer Paper I purchased with the Stampin’ Up Sale-A-Bration a few months ago and it has worked beautifully here! Once again the stamps from the Vintage Vogue stamp set have graced my card, the lovely swirly background was stamped in Sahara Sand and the two different sized flowers were stamped in Sahara Sand and Pool Party inks then fussy cut out. There’s also a new purchase or two – the Finial Press embossing folder and Victoria Lace ribbon!

Do you like that curly banner? So very easy to do! I have cut a curly label into in circle by first cutting the window using the Movers and Shapers die in the Big Shot, and then cutting the circle. That is then wrapped with a strip of coordinating designer paper to create the curly banner and layered onto a bigger circle that has the sentiment stamped right where the curly label was cut out. Pumpkin Pie ink was used to stamp the Thank You sentiment from the set called Thank You Kindly.

A few pearls, paper twirls made from trimming scraps and rounded corners finished this card off nicely.

A Cascading Card Friends

Hello Everyone,

Today I’d like to share this bright and flower card for a friend
that cascades as it opens!

The template was provided to me by one of my Stampin’ Up colleagues – thank you Anne! I love how simple this card was. Just two sections of card slotting together with coordinating folds. Here it is again to give you a better idea of how it collapses flat and cascades when it is open.

The colours are all In Colours from 2012-2013. The paper is left-overs from a recent Sale-A-Bration catalogue and I’ve used two stamp sets that would be unlikely to use together. The little girls are from The Nicest Things which is great for colouring in with your Stampin’ Write markers, and the Friends and F are from Vintage Vogue. (yes I’m addicted to Vintage Vogue!) Here’s a close up of them for you…

All in all this card was perfect to share at Card Makin Mamas this week for their Spring Photo Challenge. Check out this cake – the layers remind me of my card – cascading! The colours I used are almost right, but it the shape of the cake more than anything that was inspiring for me.

      Pretty similar shape huh!

Card for my Mother

Hi Again,

Thought I’d share the first Faux Tiling panel I did, that didn’t quite work, but looks very pretty just the same. I made it into a card for my Mother. Mother’s day is coming up here in Australia and her favourite colours are orange & green. So Tangerine Tango and Old Olive it is (with a little So Saffron sponged over it all to soften it). I wrote “other” beside the big M with an Old Olive Stampin Write marker. It looks great, just not in the photos!

I layered up some gross grain and satin ribbons in vanilla and added a strip of lace to the mix (lace from my stash). The lace was awfully white, so I dragged it over the Tangerine Tango ink pad to give it a more suitable colour. The Very Vanilla base card was scallop edged and then I hand punched a hole through each scallop. A nice pearl tops off each small flower. Card Crafters Circle will like this card this week – their challenge is Pearls and Lace.

The background faux tiling was done with the Vintage Vogue stamp set, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango and So Saffron inks on Very Vanilla CS. The base card is Tangerine Tango CS. As I’ve made the background myself I’m entering the Bloggers Challenge Blog Hop too. Here's the linky list so go check out everyone else's backgrounds too won't you!

Faux Tile Mojo Mum

Well, that’s an out there title! Catch your eye did it? If the title didn’t the card should! I love this effect. It was shown to me by my Stampin Up group leader  Jane Norrish, and of course it’s been done a multitude of times before by others, but I hadn’t tried it yet, so you’ll just have to put up with me!

I used the Mojo Monday Sketch as a basis – all those squares just looked like tiles to me. This technique is really quite easy. I used the little flower from Vintage Vogue in Night of Navy and the background is a Stampin Spot in Sahara Sand that has been swirled over the top. You can see the square edges of the spot in places but I quite like the overall effect. The embossing over the top really shines like ceramic tiles!

Stampin’ Spots were my very first purchase from Stampin Up a few years ago, they are a great money saver if you want ALL the colours NOW! They can be used for just about anything that a large ink pad can and they’re small enough to take with you when your out at stamp camps, classes etc.

I also went ballistic with ink on the inside - more sponging and stamping.

The colour scheme came from Create with Connie and Mary this week….

 

Gorgeous colours, but i was a bit short in the Peach Parfait department and had to go with Calypso Coral instead! At least I got to use the gorgeously soft and cottony Bakers Twine in Calypso Coral that I purchased from the current Winter Mini Catalogue. It makes great bows because it’s not coated in waxy stuff like some other brands.

Here’s a close up of those tiles – the grout lines are just the cardstock base, the sentiment is the centre of the For You Flower stamp.

Blossom Petals Fabulous Friend Card

Hello All,

I wanted to share the third card that was made at my first workshop as an independent demonstrator for Stampin’ Up. The last two cards you may recall,  were the handbag and dress cards, and what girl doesn’t need flowers too right?

This card was made using quite a number of different Stampin’ Up Stamp sets.

The elements of the base card used Island Indigo ink on Whisper White cardstock, with first of all the Friendly Words Jumbo Roller stamp, and then underlined it with the floral border from the Vintage Vogue stamp set.

It really is the Main Feature!

That gorgeous flower was made using Whisper White cardstock and the Build a Blossom stamp set. This fabulous set uses a two step stamping system – here I’ve used Pool Party overlaid with Island Indigo inks – and it also co-ordinates with the Blossom Petals Builder Punch, which makes it all too easy to make a flower!

Finally the Fabulous Friend sentiment is from the Oval All stamp set and as you can see it goes with the Large Oval Punch and layers beautifully onto a punched Scallop Oval. This system makes for a real quick solution to adding a sentiment to your card! 

I just love it – as if you couldn’t tell!

Blossom Petals Dress Card

Hi Everyone,

This is the second card made at my first workshop, the first one being the Hand Bag Card. Is there a theme here or what? hmmm maybe, you'll have to wait and see what the next two cards are!

This card was super easy to make – just a couple of Stampin Up punches required and some cardstock, embossing folders and a nice sentiment.

The bodice of the dress is made using the Round Tab punch. After punching the tab you turn one rounded end back into the punch to make the neck of the dress. Quite ingenious really – thank you to whoever invented it! It is then embossed using the square lattice embossing folder and decorated with ribbon and pearls.

The Skirt of the dress is the Large and Medium rounded petals punched with the Blossom Petals Builder punch. (I so love the versatility of this punch!) The larger ones are punched from the coloured cardstock (in this case it’s calypso coral) and then embossed with the Manhattan Flower embossing folder. The smaller ones are just punched out of whisper white cardstock and all the edges are sponged with matching ink.

This nice sentiment is from the Stampin Up set called Word Play.  The flourish is from the Stampin Up set called Vintage Vogue.

The dress is built and stuck down to a piece of Whisper White that is distressed and inked around the edges and then adhered to a Calypso Coral card base.

There you have it – super easy!

Hand Bag Card Tutorial

Hello Everyone,

I shared this tutorial on my Stampin Up blog, but I think it’s going to be too hard to maintain two blogs, so I’m moving it to here and closing down the Stampin Up one when my trial period ends.

This tutorial is for making the Top Note Hand Bag card.

It has been cased from several other Stampin' Up demonstrators so thank you to all the lovely ladies who have made this before, it's a great, girly card and my very first workshop was a great deal of fun because of it!

I chose to make the card in Regal Rose with Soft Suede to give it a vintage look.

MATERIALS

Base Card – 15cm x 21cm Regal Rose Card Stock

Matching Designer Paper – 14.5cm x 10cm

Whisper White Card Stock – 15cm x 12cm
5/8" Satin Ribbon in Whisper White x 15cm
Inks – Regal Rose & Soft Suede

TOOLS

Stamp set – Vintage Vogue

Embossing Folder – Square Lattice

Cutting Tools - Big Shot using Top Note die

1 x Pearl

Sponge, scissors, dimensionals.

METHOD

1. Cut Whisper White Cardstock with Top Note die. Retain the scrap piece.
   
2. Stamp the Floral Vine pattern from Vintage Vogue onto the bottom right corner of this with Soft Suede ink.
   
3. Stamp the Floral Vine pattern several times onto the left side of the designer paper with Soft Suede ink.
   
4. Stamp the small flower from Vintage Vogue with Soft Suede once onto the Top Note and twice onto the paper as shown on sample. Do not re-ink the flower between the two stamps on the paper to give a softer tone.
   
5. Also stamp one flower with Soft Suede onto the scrap of Whisper White.
   
6. Clean the flower stamp and stamp again with Regal Rose ink as shown, as well as onto the scrap of Whisper White.
   
7. Fold the Top Note over to make the bag, ensuring that the stitching from the die cut is prominent on the stamped side. Trim off the pointed ends that stick out with scissors.
   
8. Run the 'flap' of the bag only through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice Embossing folder. Stick the flap down with adhesive.
   
9. Sponge & distress all edges where needed.
   
10. Adhere ribbon to back of hand bag.
    
11. Distress & Sponge the edges of the designer paper and adhere to card front.
    
12. Adhere bag to front on an angle, leaving room for the sentiment.
    
13. Stamp the sentiment onto the designer paper in the bottom corner using Soft Suede.
    
14. Cut the small flowers stamped on the scrap out and adhere as bag clasp with a dimensional, then top with a pearl.
