Mojo Fifth Avenue Rose

Hi Everyone,

I’m back and have managed to do my Mojo Monday sketch for the week and what a sketch it was, so many elements to it – here is my card, a beautiful black rose!

P1030663

The beautiful rose from Fifth Avenue Floral was heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss powder onto Black cardstock and fussy cut out.
I then highlighted areas of the Rose that I wanted to coat in glitter using the Versamarker and Heat n Stick Powder. The Versamarker lets you put glitter just where you want it and is great for doing fine lines. The Stampin’ Glitter is Dazzling Diamonds – it is truly very fine in texture and it sticks well using the powder.

I used the same Pear Pizzazz coloured paper from the Twitterpated Designer Paper pack that is in the current mini catalogue to make the leaves and the underlying mat – just offsetting the pattern.

Not only did I use the  Mojo Monday sketch, but also the Colour Q challenge colours…

Mojo250Sketch       cqc146

What a blast of fun I’ve had making this card – lots of Sizzlits (Floral Fusion, Little Leaves, Lots of Tags) cut out with my Big Shot and various papers/ cardstocks. Also one of my all time favourite stamp sets – Fifth Avenue Floral – which is possibly going to be retired in September when the new catalogue arrives. boo hoo.

P1030661

The sentiment really appeals to me as I am far from a perfectionist and I could really use this as a motto to slow down and do it right the first time!

Hope you all are having a lovely day, perhaps sitting by the ‘puter having a cuppa? Whatever your doing, enjoy and I’ll catch you later.

Unusual Christmas Card

Hello Again,

I’m back with a card made for the Mojo Monday #219 Sketch Challenge.

I’ve used some Kaiser Craft papers to make this unusual Christmas Card. While the colours are fairly traditional and a favourite combination of mine (that is Burgundy not brown as it looks in these pictures – must adjust my camera!), the image is something a little unusual for me for Christmas, but still says Christmas!

P1020873

The embossing folder is poinsettias and I’ve put some little pink pearls at their centres.

This is the Sketch Layout…

Mojo219Sketch

I do like this little bird though and I think the sketch layout suits it perfectly.

P1020875

I’ve decorated the inside of the card too…

P1020876

Thanks for dropping by and checking it out, I’ll share it with the following challenges also…

Christmas Shaker Card

Hi Everyone,

I have still been madly making Christmas cards and this one is beautiful if I do say so myself!
I cannot claim to be the designer here as I have copied a card from the latest issue of Australian Simply Cards magazine, they even provided the paper in a lovely Christmas Paper Stack that came with the Mag!

P1020862

All instructions to make this card were in the magazine, although they used a different spellbinder label – mine is Labels 4. There is an acetate window that is popped up with foam tape and filled with a combination of flower soft and glitter.

P1020860

I’ve also used a new punch here in the Martha Stewart Fern leaf – just had to have it! There is a snowflake sizzlit die and some satin roses with a paper flower. The ‘25’ is die cut from Sizzix Chip Block alpha die and layered onto a sizzlit tag that is tied on with string.

I love how the arrangement of embellies sits on the card …here it is even closer again…

P1020864

Hope you like it, I’m going to have to share this at Make it Monday I am so proud of my achievement with it.

Oh and just a quick reminder of my Blog Candy

Ribbon Christmas Tree

Hello Everyone,

Christmas is certainly fast approaching, so yes, I’m madly making cards as is everyone else who doesn’t do Christmas Cards All Year Round – A concept I’m coming to appreciate! lol

I saw this idea in the latest Simply Cards magazine here in Australia and had just the ribbon tucked away  in my stash ( purchased from Craft Queen last year).

P1020858

It looks even better in real life as the satin ribbon shines beautifully.
The sentiment says “Rocking around the Christmas Tree” and I then stamped the Christmas Tree part again so it was nice and even along the bottom.
The star is a Quickcuts die cut from metallic silver paper and the centre part glittered Red.

There is quite a bit of dimension to the ribbon...

P1020857

The paper is from Kaiser Craft (one of the christmas releases, not sure which). It has layered up nicely on green & white card stock.

Will be off to make a few more of these tomorrow, I’ve got a feeling they’ll be popular Smile

I’d like to enter it at the following challenges:-

“Oh What fun it is to make a Christmas Card with Joy, Hey”

Hi Everyone, just thought I’d sing a little carol of my own Te he he, or is that ho ho ho.

Here’s another Christmas Card I’ve made, now someone gave me all the bits to make this card so I’ve no idea what the papers are or where the sentiment came from. It turned out so lovely with the folded flower that I just had to share it with you Smile

P1020750

Very Christmassy indeed!

I’ll share it at the following challenges too, just because I can! lol

Santa Christmas Card

Hello Everyone,

I made this Christmas card using a wonderful image of Santa that was available with a 6” paper pad that I got free with Australian Simply Cards magazine last month.

P1020837

The buckle is lovely and blingy, and the snowflakes are die cuts.

The paper on the top is from the same paper pack, I loved the roses and used sheer ribbons in red and black so you could still see them through the ribbon. Matting the whole thing and the Santa with black really makes it all stand out nicely.

It’s a pretty simple Santa Christmas Card really…just wanted to share it around.

Don’t forget about my CANDY – HERE – All you have to do is follow me and put your name in the Linky List on this post – HERE -  and I will draw it when I reach 133 followers.

Might I just add that Trish has scored a Design Team post – keep an eye on her blog Trish and Treasure in the coming days to see what she gets up to!

One of these days I’ll catch up to her! lol

I’ll share this card at the following challenge blogs:-

Poinsettia Christmas Card

Hello Everyone,

I’m back with another Christmas Card, this time I’ve used a poinsettia digi from Beccys Place, thank you Beccy it’s perfect!

P1020843

After downloading the digi image I printed it in a couple of different sizes, coloured them in with Copic Pens (R22, R24 & R29) and then fussy cut them out.

P1020841

Above you can see the two different layers. The top layer I selected just the inside petals and cut everything else away. Before sticking it down I ran a shaping tool under the petals to give them a little height.

It’s finished off with some little beads in silver & red stuck to the middle to emulate the berries.

P1020842

I also used a stamp I purchased recently from my favourite local scrapbooking shop J.A.M CreationsThe stamp set is a Do Crafts - Daisy & Dandelions Clear Stamp set and it has 7 different Christmas sentiments that you'll be sure to see all of over the next week or so.

I stamped directly onto the DP with SU Cherry Cobbler ink and layered with red mirror card onto a white base along with a little red mesh style ribbon.

Hope you Like it, I am going to share it with the following challenges:):-

Star Ornament Tag

Hello Everyone,
I have been having a wonderful Friday at home, after a little operation I had yesterday. Far be it for me to “rest”, I spent the day making these wonderful pop out Star Ornament Tags that I found a tutorial on.

P1020825

The tutorial was at Stamp with Tammi who has some absolutely amazing projects! Thank you Tammi Smile

I made three of these today, this is how they look all closed up….

P1020826

Then you loosen off the bead, and this happens…..

P1020827

Open the whole thing up and re-tighten the bead to get this….

P1020828

Each square is 3 inches and it all folds down to one of 1.5 inches.
Very cute, and they will be attached to lots of my Christmas presents I think!

Here’s the other two opened up for you to see my stamping, there’s plenty of wreaths, stars & snowflakes galore.

P1020831        P1020833

I have used a combination of stamps from several different Christmas sets, from both Kaiser Craft and Hot off the Press, as well as Boho Backgrounds from Stampin Up.

All the inks are Stampin Up: Garden Green with Poppy Parade , Marina Mist with Rich Razzleberry and Marina Mist with Cherry Cobbler, and stamped onto Very Vanilla Card stock.

Both sides of the card paper are stamped, and you can see the pattern on the other side at the edges of the star when it is open…

P1020834

This project has been a world of fun, thanks so much to Tammi for sharing her wonderful tutorial Smile

I’d like to share this in the following challenges:-
Charisma Cardz Challenge Blog – Snowflakes
Little Red Wagon #108 – Christmas Theme
Simon Says Stamp Challenge – Tag

Merry Christmas Card

Hello Everone,

I missed the Mojo Monday sketch a couple of times now, but I really liked this one and wanted to get it done, so here it is…

P1020811

I’ve used a Kaiser Craft 6” paper pack for the purples – One of the Christmas ones, and the yellow paper with purple & gold baubles on it was from a pack of special papers that I collected from somewhere. I only have one little sheet of this particular paper so it is good to use as an accent.

Merry Christmas was stamped and embossed with Gold, this stamp is from Kaiser Craft too – again, one of the Christmas ones obviously! lol .

P1020812

I decorated the inside of the card with my favourite quick cuts corner die cuts, and the golden bell was an item in one of my swap bags from Paper Mates club.

Here is the Mojo Monday Sketch that I used….

Mojo216Sketch

Hope you like it…. if your interested – I have Candy to give away – check out my Sidebar, right at the top.

I'd also like to share this with the girls at Creatalicious Challenge who want some Christmas Sparkle on our projects, also with Shopping our Stash, who have a Winter or Christmas theme and with Creative Craft Challenges it's a Free for All!

Be back in a couple of day, Ciao for now Smile

Thanksgiving Card

Hello Everyone,

I was recently out to dinner at one of the big hotels in Surfers Paradise and found a postcard advertisement for their Thanksgiving Dinner this month on the counter.

I loved the images and knew I could make a card of them, so I took one!

Here’s what I made….

P1020805

The ribbons remind me of a 1950’s kitchen, and I added a little blue ribbon for her apron tie.

P1020806

I added a little tag to open the card by stapling some of the checkered ribbon onto the bottom corner and added a litlle button for interest.

P1020807

Isn’t this image adorable! 1950’s family with their Turkey Thanksgiving dinner -  is that a Stepford mum or what?

I’ll enter this into a few challenges I think…

Please help yourself to my Candy give away – there’s a link on my sidebar to the post.

Thanks for looking

One Year of Blogging CANDY !

Hello Everyone,

It’s now been a year since I started this blog.

How crazy is that! One whole year!

As mentioned in my previous post, I received the new desk (on my 1 year anniversary) that my Mother had given me – the catch was that I had to help her move all her other stuff too!

My whole day was taken up with this task, and the whole next week just slipped by as I attempted to get organised in Girl World each night after work.

Enough with the excuses – it’s simply taken me 2 weeks to get organised and now my Girl World is complete, and I have some Candy to share with you.

The Candy items are all from my stash, all in new condition, or made by myself in the case of the paper flowers, and I will post them wherever they need to go to get to the winner at my expense.

Here’s a pic of my new desk…

At this point I would like to thank those of you who do follow me now – as I said to Trish in my own defence – at least my followers are genuinely following me because they like me. You are all welcome to enter this Candy :)

Trish had joined a linky party some time ago where everybody on the list had to follow everybody else and her follower numbers skyrocketed overnight. I deemed this as cheating at the time, but as they say – all is fair and love and war. So now it’s my turn to cheat!

I will draw my Blog Candy as soon as I have the same number of (or more) followers as my lovely cheating friend Trish

Twisted Easel Rose

Hello Everyone,

I’ve made this card using an old Mojo Monday sketch (#204?) Either way, I didn’t like how it looked at first, so didn’t post it at the time. I’ve now fixed the problem – it was too plain before and I added some stitching and embossing to help it out a bit.

P1020773

It is actually a twisted easel card, as you can see here….

P1020779         P1020778

I hadn’t made one of these before and having lost the instructions I just kind of winged it with the construction. I did get a little lost as to placement of the sentiment ‘anchor’ on the base of the card and it’s a little skewed.

P1020775

I hope you like it, I am going to enter it into the following challenges and see how I go…

I’ll be back tomorrow with a little more to tempt you, I do believe that tomorrow is a whole 1 year since I started this blog!

Tomorrow I am also receiving a new desk,
which means I will have to clean up the mess on the old one,
which means I may find some goodies I can live without,
which means I may challenge myself to work out Mr Linky Widget,
which means I may post some CANDY !!!

Stay posted!

Christmas Snowman

Hello Everyone,

Here is another of my Christmas Bits in a Bag cards from the November Paper-mates meet up. I love this snowman, he was so easy to colour in – I’ve used my stampin’ write markers to colour him in a bit.

P1020745

The layout was easy to do with this one as all the pieces provided were pre-cut and it pretty much fell together without having to think too hard.

P1020748P1020749

The ribbon is my favourite part – it has bendy edges – which made it so very easy to manipulate into a folded pattern. It has quite a bit of dimension to it.

P1020744

The snowflakes were cut from metallic paper and are really shiny too.

I really enjoyed making this, which is just as well, because it was the bag that Trish put together and if you haven’t figured it out yet, she’s one of my best friends Smile thanks Trish, it’s always amazing what comes out of your stash!

I’ll enter this into the following challenges….

I Did It Creations challenge is  Christmas/Winter ,  of note is the free digi they are giving away if you want to use it on your entry. I didn’t this time, but I will next time!

Last but definitely not least as it fits this challenge perfectly….

Well that’s it from me tonight, do have a couple more cards to blog for you but will save them until tomorrow, Ciao for now Smile
