Celebration Pinwheel

Hi Everyone,

My Niece has a 19th birthday coming up next month and I really wanted to use this Kaiser paper that I’ve had floating around in bits and pieces (since using it on Kristy’s birthday card a few months back). 

The paper is called Skull Girl.

I combined it with an Anitas card blank of a special kind….read on to see

Here is my card…       

I made a Pinwheel out of the different patterns on the paper and used a big Kaiser Brad in the middle that co-ordinates with the paper.

I stamped Celebrate (another iCling stamp) with it’s matching frame and then die cut it with my new Nellies Multiframe die (#MFD009) which I picked up at the Brisbane Papercraft Fair for a whole $16.95!! What a bargain and it’s gorgeous!

There’s also some liquid pearls on there too – another new to me thing! Much easier than those rotten little stick down pearls. I’ve embossed the white background with a Couture Creations folder called Diamond Trellis and inked all the edges I could find with “Rich Razzleberry” Stampin Up ink.

I mentioned that my card blank was rather special, and this is why….

 

It has the most adorable heart cut out popping up from the centre. I love it! The card blank comes in two separate parts so you can put some matching DP underneath the heart as a feature…..

Tempting Mojo

Hello again,

A little more time in Girl World today led to a completed Mojo Monday entry – No 195 to be precise!

I picked up this lovely silhouette stamp at the Brisbane Papercraft Fair and think she looks rather delightful in Tempting Torquoise ink, hence the name for this post – here’s my entry, Tempting huh…

The sentiment is a simple Happy Birthday (part of my favourite Annabelles Stamps set “All Things Grow” and was amazed to find that it fits the SU Word Window punch perfectly!

There’s a pile of Kaiser flowers, gold brads, ribbons and ric-a-rac that make up the rest of this card. Oh – and the flowers embossed on the background – this was a small free folder that came with a Do Crafts magazine at some stage, am very happy with that, there's also a fiskars edge punch, spellbinders circle & scallop circle etc etc.

Annabelle sketch with a little Banana Custard thrown in…

Hello Everyone,

I see I have a couple more followers – thank you for joining me, I hope I can provide as much inspiration as I get from you in return.

Today I have made a card for the Annabelle Stamps Sketch Challenge #38  and as luck would have it is the perfect colour to enter into the Lollipop Ladies challenge too, which is themed on “Banana Custard” (YUM).

 Even though my card is not themed – the colour is right! Vintage will have to wait till the next attempt!

Here it is….

Oh look, I used my Annabelle Stamps “All Things Grow” set again! lol. There is one little element there that is not from that set, and it’s the little birdie which I’ve pinched from the Stampin Up “Bliss” set. I used some natural fibre papers and they kind of went well with the Fern leaf. The ink was Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink and I used some orange bling, because the yellow and gold ones just didn’t have any oomph.

Purple Haze Birthday

Hello again,

Just wanted to quickly share another card I made using “All Things Grow” from Annabelle Stamps 

(yes – again! Get used to it, I’m in love with this stamp set and this is probably only the beginning)

I started out with white cardstock and used my SU stampin spot in  {crumb cake} colour to swipe the colour on straight with the spot. I then embossed the grasses across the bottom of the card. Went back to the stampin spots with {river rock} and added some green along the back of the grass. I then used a sponge and some {not quite navy} to highlight the night sky which blended to purple {elegant eggplant}. I then went and stamped some more grasses in purple to make them really stand out.

An SU Scallop punch, Oval punch and Word Window were used to mount the Happy Birthday sentiment from the set.

I love how this card came out, however, I think my blending needs a little more practice. Back to more playing with this stamp set it is.

The girls over at C.R.A.F.T Challenge are having a Birthday Blog Hop and Happy Birthday card challenge. This is my entry.

Crafty Cardmakers wanted embossing - well it sure is!

Hoping to spend more time in Girl World tomorrow - My Nanna needs a card for her 95 year old friend of 71 years - must have pretty flowers on it is the call. Will have to see what I can come up with!

A Corrosive Happy Birthday

Hello Everyone,

I hadn't realised today was a holiday as well, and since I made no plans at all....Girl World - there I went!

What a productive day, it's raining outside, I was in  heaven :)

I made this card, beleive it or not, for my lovely little friend Paris who is turning Eleven. She told me her favourite colour at the moment is Black. hmmm - She's a very arty, crafty girl and I thought I'd make her something a little different, just coz i know she'll appreciate it. I'll probably have to give her instructions on how I did it too lol.

So here is Paris' birthday card this year...

I even went all out and decorated the inside too...

I know... duh I had to - can't write on a black card (without a white gel pen anyways lol)

I'm gonna enter this card over at the Corrosive Challenge Blog. Its challenge #113 and is "Animals". I bet I've got the only flying horse!

See you all in about half an hour with my Two Mojo Monday cards this week too. Yep - that was two - told you I'd been productive! lol.

Spring Flowers

Hello again,

I've made this really simple card with a wonderful technique taught to me by my SU (Stampin Up) demonstrator - Jane Norrish.

I have stamped and coloured and cut - out my daisies from the SU Every Moment stamp set and then glued them to a beautiful blue sky coloured card. I then ran it through the Big Shot using my SU Textured Impressions embossing folder.

A simple sentiment (pretty sure that's a Kaszazz Happy Birthday), and a piece of ribbon finished it all off nicely.

I was inspired by the picture challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks which shows flowers reaching to the sky....

Isn't it beautiful!

A Snappy 4th Birthday!

Hello again,

Am back to share a card I've made for my sweet little god-son who has an obsession with Crocodiles!

This paper was perfect for Finn! It was covered in all different animals, I just fussy cut the crocodile out and mounted him up. The 4 is a chipboard that I have painted and covered in paper. Too easy!

Annabelle meets Bizzy Bec

Hey I'm getting good at these combined challenges lol.

Today I chose to follow the Annabelles Bling Sketch Challenge (ABSC036), and combine it with Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenge # 20 which is for anything Two Tone.I chose pink and yellow :)

This is the sketch at Annabelles place this month. They are also searching for DT members, so if your keen, get on over there and have a shot at it.

I have used a free digi from Beccys Place - fluffy cupcake and printed it on photo paper, then used a combination of distress ink (yellow) and Stampin Write marker (pink) to colour it in. The Stampin Write marker didn't like the photo paper too much but it worked out great by giving a fluffy, swirly effect. Beccy has some great images for free, thank you so much Beccy :)

I'll keep this one in my stash to use for a birthday somewhere along the line. Hope you like it.

A Mother of Pearl Birthday for Mojo

I have finally used the Mother of Pearl paper that I won at Papermates last Christmas.

The other paper I have made with watercolour paper and some shell stamps.

Here it is...

I have embossed the bottom purple card and swiped some ink over the raised bits to make it really stand out. I love this embossing folder, it's from Stampin Up. The ribbon was purchased recently at the Craft Queen and it's all matted on DCWV textured cardstocks. I have also used my spellbinder circles and scallop circles to cut the sentiment. (name dropper I know :)

Here is a close up of the shells, I have coated them with glitter and they look fabulous! Hopefully it shows up on the screen.

Here is the Birthday card I made for my Sister in Law, it took a little longer to get around to doing than I thought it would, and then I made another one in the same design and now I can't decide which one to give her! aaagghhhh

Mojo Monday #179 is a Happy Birthday

(he he he, I always wanted to say tha!)


I have made my Mojo Monday sketch this week fit in with my Niece's 3rd Birthday.
I am sure Erin will like it, she's a big fan of pink at the moment - the colour that is, not the rock star! lol

My new stamps from Spesch Designer Stamps arrived and this is one of them, just perfect for a little girls' birthday card.This one is called Sophie and is a clear stamp. Spesch sell digi stamps too, however I've not the right printer for them - yet!  I'll probably have to share this with the Spesch group of girls on facebook too, just to show it off.

The candles are Kaiser rub-ons and the 3 is a chipboard number that I have coated in glitter. The stamp "Birthday Girl" is from a cheapie pack I found in K-Mart and I used my Stampin Up marker in Melon Mambo to ink it up.  The papers are all from a paper stack that I picked up in Big W. There are 2 circles around Sophie and both were cut out with a Fiskars cutter. The top one was then trimmed with a wavy scissor to show the one beneath.  The border beneath was just layers of papers cut with a couple of border punches.

 

This is the Mojo Monday sketch and I have used a little poetic license with my card and not everything is where it should be, but it's prety close I think.

I'll be posting another card sometime in the next couple of days for my Sister In Law's birthday, who is 2 days apart from her daughter. I lost the bet by 2 days when Erin was born, I could've sworn she would arrive on the same birthday! Keep an eye out for it anyway, it's going to have an unusual opening.

A Birthday Card

Hello All,

Before we get to my birthday card, I just thought I'd ask what you think of the new background. I'm slowly getting my head around this blog stuff.

Here's a card I made for a friends birthday, just thought I'd share it with you.

I really enjoyed making the leafy background with all the different coloured leaves. I made sure to use the stamp a couple of times each time so that the images faded out. I also like the colours. The sentiment is from a Stampin Up set - one of the 'labels' ones. The bird and tree on the front are from a set I picked up at Sams Warehouse. You could say they are home brand I suppose, but I fell in love with it.

Have a great week everyone, I'll be back to post my Mojo 176 possibly tomorrow, however I have a papermates meeting on saturday and need to prepare a shoebox swap for 8! Might be pushed for time, so I'll blog that instead if that is the case and shock horror, miss my mojo this week!

Oh I forgot to mention that I used a spellbinders label die to cut just the top off the backing sheet. How did I do that you ask? Well it was simply a matter of lining it all up off the edge of the cutting pad and running it through. This way there was no pressure on half the die. easy peasy I say!

Big Brother's Birthday Card

Hello, thanks for coming back to my blog :)

I've had to make a quick dash back to Girl World today (after spending all day in there playing with paint and ink and all sorts of things which I'll show you later) because it's my Brother's Birthday and I nearly forgot!!!!

Don't know how I could possibly forget the fact that he gets a public holiday every year because he's an Australia Day baby  (jealousy & sarcasm should be detected here).

Anyway, here's the quick  card I wacked together for him. Found a piece of paper with some boyish patterns and colours on it along with some pre cut letters that my friend Roz gave me ages ago as they were surplus to her needs. Did a little stamping and colouring and false stitching and Bro is sorted!

My First Digi & Corrosive Challenge #97

I liked the idea of Purple & Yellow - they're two of my favourite colours!
Another thing that is outside the norm for me is using a "digi" stamp.

Although the freebie I used and the current freebie will probably be different. It took me a while to decide to use it. I have coloured it in with watercolour pencils - which looks a bit lame compared to the girls using copics - must do a class with them and see if I'm any good at it. Gawd forbid I could quite easily gain another addiction with copics - and an expensive one at that! Here's my card anyways....

For Dad

Gee have I been busy, it's my Dad's birthday today and had to make something quick quick quick for him.
Don't know where I'd be without Stampin Up I tell you...made this quick card with Stampin Up stamps, paper and some ribbon and a brad from my own stash. I'll post up the paper & stamps used when I get a chance to get back out to "Girl World" tomorrow and write down their names.

Card Art Tart's practice post - first one!

I made this card for my good friend's son on his 15th birthday. 


All the items I used were from Kaiser Craft. 
(Paper, Rub-Ons, Mini Letter stickers, brads and Chipboard numbers.)
The stars were cut out from the paper and layered onto cardboard to give them some strength to stand out on dimensional tape.
I really like the torn effect and layering of different papers.


I think he liked it, but who knows with teenage boys!
