Snow Flurry Christmas Card

Hi Everyone,
They say there are no mistakes in crafting and ‘they’ are so very right! This card was made using a die cut that was only half cut in error. The Snow Flurry Bigz die was cut out of Whisper White cardstock, only it slipped when I was rolling it through the Big Shot and I only got 3/4’s of the biggest shape cut out!
P1040098
Never mind – I just mounted it onto the edge of the designer paper from the Festival of Prints paper pack, like it was supposed to be that way! The black card stock underneath helps to really make the pattern stand out and some Island Indigo Bakers Twine holds the Jewellery Tag punch, stamped with a merry sentiment from the Tiny Tags stamp set.

It’s been a while since I joined the fun over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, they have a die cuts theme happening this week which is just perfect for this card!
Hope you like it !
Cheers,

Bargello Butterfly Thanks Card

Hi Again,

Well the girls at Sunny Challenges and Creations outdid themselves with simplicity this week – thanks be to Gwen Smile It was all too easy, and the results I think are brilliant!

P1040049

Nothing is ever perfect, and my layers here will vouch for that lol! However, when something isn’t perfect we cut and trim and try to make it so – leaving a lovely heap of scrappy strips of beautiful papers which, if you’re anything like me, you can’t bear to throw out.

We now have the solution ladies! The Bargello Technique! Simply take a peice of Multipurpose Adhesive paper and cover a peice of cardstock (make it the size of the feature peice you want to save supplies). Peel back the top to expose the sticky side and start sticking down your strips of patterned paper in geometric type patterns.

P1040050

It makes a wonderful background to the Elegant Butterfly Die and matching stamp set – Papillon Potpourri. The Thanks is from the Kindness Matters set and it’s stamped onto some Certainly Celery cardstock that’s been cut to shape with one of the Lots of Tags Sizzlits. Bakers Twine in Lucky Limeade finishes it off.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope I’m providing you with plenty of inspiration – especially where butterflies are concerned lately! I’m not done yet thought, just wait until you see my Hanging Butterfly Easel card! I did promise it back in September and it’s nearly ready to blog! So keep an eye out in the next couple of days for it, in the meantime – enjoy life!

Multi Purpose Card

Hi Everyone,

I’m back in the middle of a long week-end here in Qld and how busy have I been!
This card is made with no sentiment on purpose
I figured I needed a ‘Multi-Purpose’ card in my stash.
P1030995

Sunny Challenges and Creations always have a great sketch, and this week is no different,
check it out..
SC 06112

I have gone and turned it on it’s side – and used something from the new  Catalogue as suggested – Delicate Doilies Sizzlits along with some embossing folders and the gorgeous swirl stamp from the Everything Eleanor stamp set.

The colour scheme this week is from Dynamic Duos – always a bit of fun.
DD#22

As you can see I used Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake cardstock, some pearls to accent and Voila – one Multi Purpose card!
I’ll be back soon with a new technique for me – some lovely layers, so keep an eye out for it, you’ll love it!
Ciao for now…

Regal Rose Mojo

Hi All,

Yay – I’m back with my Mojo Monday card and it’s only Saturday here!  Can’t wait to share it with you, It’s made from gorgeous Regal Rose cardstock, the matching Designer Paper stack and a smidgen of Twitterpated Designer Paper. I sneaked in an Apothecary Accents Framelit too just for fun.

P1030950

Not to mention those ever versatile Floral Fusion sizzlit flowers (in black again he he he) along with the Little Leaves sizzlit and even some offcuts from a previous card. The lovely scallop around the edge that has been topped with pearls is the offcut from an Adorning Accents edgelit. How pretty is that! Because I had lined up the piece I was cutting for a previous card with the edgelit fairly close to the edge of the cardstock I was left with this thin scalloped strip which was perfect to decorate the plain circular edge on the Mojo sketch this week.
This is the sketch this week by the way..
Mojo259Sketch

Oooh, can you see the sweet little banner that the sentiment is stamped on?

P1030950

It’s another new item in the catalogue that I think I will find it hard to live without – Bitty Banners Framelits. 3 Dies come in the set and I’ve used one of my Teeny Tiny Sentiments in it this time as I’m awaiting the arrival of the order that has the matching stamp set in it.

How exciting – another matching stamp and cut item!

That’s the exact reason why I became a Stampin Up Demonstrator – It all Matches! (and did I mention you get a discount?) If you’d like to join up too – check out the Join Now button on my Demonstrator Website today. Just follow the prompts and you too could have all these wonderful matching, good quality products at a discount!

Hanging Butterfly Card

Hi Everyone,

I have this gorgeous card to share with you today that utilised my Bakers Twine to dangle a butterfly and sentiment in an aperture made with a die. I did make it a while ago and was saving it up for a Challenge, which I’ve just found the perfect one at Twist of Faith Card Challenge blog – the In The Garden theme is perfect!

P1030720

This is my first attempt at this type of card and it was a lesson in co-ordination I can tell you! The trick is to cut the aperture ON ALL pieces at the same time (before sticking them together, but with them where you want them to be).
There are two sides the piece that hangs in the middle and the Bakers Twine is stuck down between the two, then it’s sandwiched between the designer paper and the cardstock at top and bottom to hold it into place. Here it is on the inside…
P1030721

The little hanging piece was just a circle punched, the butterfly was stamped and cut out twice and stuck onto both sides, lining it up as best I could. I have shared this card over at Inspire Me Fridays too, because I think it’s a rather inspired idea. The Sweet Stampin Challenge also has a  challenge to focus on the sentiment - It is a little small, but is definitely the focus on this card.

P1030723

I hope you like my attempt at some construction – now to go back and do it again with the new Stampin Up Butterfly punch and perhaps one of the Apothecary Accents frames would be nice for this. I have cased this card from somewhere – a tutorial was found, but as I made this card quite a while ago, I have failed to find again the brains behind the design to credit them for it. Whoever it was – thank you, it’s a lovely design!

Have a great day now..

Sunny Birthday Duo

Hi Everyone,

I have a lovely birthday card to share this week, I especially love the embossed birdy and the single strip of Bakers Twine that is hiding the untidy edge from the sliver of cardstock I trimmed off the top section. (shhh)
Can you spot the other mistake I made on this card? hmmm – we’ll see if anyone notices ? – But like they say, it’s not a mistake, it’s a unique creation. lol

P1030946

Sunny Creations & Challenges provided the Sketch & Easel theme while  Dynamic Duos is a colour challenge (somehow I missed the Halloween Theme here – do you think a black bird counts ? lol)

SC 05912        DD#20

This was a quick and fun card to make, the challenges make it easy by putting your focus on what you need, when choices are plentiful you can sit for hours undecided! lol

P1030949

An Easel card makes sure you decorate the inside too and what better place for scraps.

     P1030947

I’ve used all Stampin Up products in this card:
  • Stamps – Creatively Yours, Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Papaya Collage
  • Designer Paper – Twitterpated
  • Cardstock & Matching Ink – Black & Lucky Limeade
  • Tools: Floral Fusion Sizzlit, Labels collection Framelits, Embossing Powder, Adorning Accents Edgelit & Embossing folder, a single little Rhinestone.
I hope I’ve given you some inspiration, the new Catalogue has some wonderful things in it and I’m having a great time creating with them. Hope you’ll join me again in  a few days time when I conquer my Mojo before Monday again!

Seasons Greetings Snow Flurry

Hi Everyone,

I’ve managed to do the Mojo Monday sketch this week – again just in the nick of time! Here is my card in lovely Very Vanilla, Pool Party and Midnight Muse coloured inks and cardstocks and matching designer papers.

P1030869

Here is the Mojo Monday Sketch…I chose the square one obviously! lol

Mojo256Sketch

It was a great opportunity to play my new Stampin’ Up Sizzix Bigz Die – Snow Flurry, which is in the new Stampin Up Holiday Catalogue. Click the link to go see for yourself what else is in this catalogue – it’s awesome to say the least!

P1030870

The papers used were from the designer paper pack called Comfort Cafe, which is available in the Annual Catalogue. Again click the link on the side bar to check out all the new stuff!

P1030871

I’ve decided that I’m addicted to Shimmer Paint! It seems to end up on all my cards recently, whether it’s painted or sprayed in a mist or stamped like I’ve done here with the little star stamp from the new Scentsational Season stamp set (in the Holiday Catalogue too, with some matching dies and scented embossing powder! how fab is that!)

Well that's all from me today – another Christmas Card made and a little play with some of the new products available, Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Christmas

Hi Everyone,

Well it’s not quite Christmas yet, but don’t blink to hard – it might just sneak up on you!
On this card I’ve cut out the sentiment using the X-large Oval punch and layered it on a sizzlit frame from the Lots of Tags sizzlit collection.

P1030867

A sketch challenge with the Christmas theme was on the cards at Sunny Challenges and Creations this week. I used the Boho Blossoms punch to create some flower windows in the plain panel to reveal the designer paper underneath.

It gave me a chance to use some new Stampin Up colours called Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit. It’s also given me a chance to use some new papers too – this one is from the Comfort Cafe series. These will all be available in a few days time when the new 2012-2013 Annual Catalogue goes live on September 1st.

P1030866

I even had a few left-overs to decorate the inside of this card – using the Gumball Green cardstock and some Summer Starfruit coloured Boho Blossom punch flowers. Thanks for stopping by – I hope you like my little preview of some of the new items from Stampin’ Up which are available after September 1st.

Inspiring Mojo Card

Hi Everyone,

Well I have been so busy that I’ve missed a couple of Mojo Monday Sketches, finally got to this one in time though. I had occasion to make a card to inspire a young friend and what better statement than this one from the Stampin’ Up Word Play stamp set.

P1030754

This is the whole card. I have outlined the die cut Elegant Bird with and ‘Island Indigo’ coloured Stampin’ Write marker to make it stand out, and also added faux stitching to the mat.

P1030753

This is the Mojo Monday Sketch that I’ve used, my card is a little different in shapes and proportions but hey, you get that! I had a few of these birds already cut out and this one had a big bit missing from it’s belly, so I hid that under the sentiment. Just goes to show, don’t throw anything out, you never know where you can use it.

Mojo254Sketch

The papers used are Stampin Up “Twitterpated” and the grosgrain ribbon will be retired from the end of this month and replaced in the Annual Catalogue with something lovelier I’m sure. I didn’t want the ribbon to cover up the bird’s head, so I just tucked it under and started it from there.

I hope you like my card, I’ll be back soon with a wee project I’ve been working on using Glossy Paper, Staz-On ink and a sponge! Check back later to see.
Thanks for stopping by.

Top Note Easel Card

Hi Everyone,

I’ve been wanting to try using the Sizzix Top Note die for Stampin’ Up as a base for an easel card for a while now. It’s the perfect size and so easy to do I don't know why I haven't done it yet! A Christmas theme was in order for July and I’ve not kept up with my weekly Christmas Card make for some time now, so Christmas it is!

P1030668

Dasher is used here again, obviously a favourite of mine, along with a sentiment from the Four the Holidays stamp set. I just love this beautiful scripted Merry Christmas. It's stamped directly onto designer paper from the Twitterpated series.  I’ve embossed the whole lot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder to represent falling snow. The small friend sentiment is from the Tiny Tags stamp set, and the pleated satin ribbon in Riding Hood Red is covering the edge of the paper.

P1030671

As you can see – It’s an easel card, made very easily with the Top Note die. Simply fold your cardstock base and place it over the Top Note Die with just 3 sides being cut (leave the folded part just inside the cut line).
Then cut another single Top Note shape to build the card front.
Assembling is simply a matter folding back the top of the card base evenly in half and attaching the card front so that it’s in position with the base card.
The folded back piece adheres to the back of the front piece in the top section only.
So here it is open and standing up. An oval sentiment popped up on a scallop oval provides a stopper so that the card stands up.

P1030670

I love the ease of this easel, excuse the pun lol

I’ll share this card with the following challenges:-
Crafty Annes Challenge – Easel Cards – good timing I think! lol

Inspire me Fridays – Always Anything Goes Delightful Sketches – Christmas in July
Paper Play Challenges – Christmas
Divas by Design – Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by, I look forward to more posted for you soon.
