Golf Anyone?

Hello Again,

Back so soon I hear you say – goodness you weren’t expecting me until the end of the week i’m sure! lol

I have been requested to share a card I made for my lovely friend Trish’s husband.

Here it is…just for you Trish!

P1020668

I saw the design for this in a magazine – sorry can’t remember which one. It is very simple, but effective – although the recipient said (sarcastically), “that’s a lovely snow tree Vicki” lol
I hope it looks like a golf ball to you, I thought it did!

This card was so very easy to make! I started with a card blank and made a circle with my Spellbinders. I then used leftover bits to punch the raised cirlces for the ball and make a Tee with (raised with foam tape). The grass is a scrap of paper edges with a border punch and Voila! done!

I’ll enter this card into the following challenges :-

Hope you like it, and Ciao for now Smile

Travelling Mojo

Hi Everyone,

This is the first card I’ve made this week and it’s nearly the end of the week!

My nephew is off for his first overseas trip with-out Mum & Dad and I’m going to miss his send off this afternoon, so I made this card to let him know that I am thinking of him and wishing him well.

P1020717

I really enjoyed doing some stamping for a change. I’ve made the background with SU Cream cardstock and a pile of different stamps from the TPC Studio range called Bon Voyage and the Cre8tive stamps Travel Series. I also used a pile of different ink colours from SU, starting with River Rock, then Old Olive and finally with Night of Navy. The whole lot was then sponged over with Distress Inks – Shabby Shutters & Broken China.

I think I’m still in time for Mojo Monday – who’s sketch I used, this is it…
Mojo212Sketch

I even did the inside again using leftover bits by simply tearing the edges, I’m getting better at that!

P1020719

Here’s a close up of the little tag I made, I don’t know if you can see the embossing on it. I used the Tim Holtz Gridlock embossing folder on this as well as the second layer.

P1020720

Hope you like it. I have another busy week next week, but do have a certain young man’s birthday to deal with, so no doubt I’ll be back before Sunday this time!

Have a great week… and…

Thank You Mojo 211

Hello Everyone,

I’ve actually managed to create my Mojo Monday card for the week, which is rather amazing, if you saw my schedule you’ d have to wonder how I did it!

Using lots of bits and pieces: a butterfly embossing folder, a scrap of red card ( underneath the green that red card has sections cut out of it – but it still had all the edges in place and that’s the only part I needed lol)

The ribbon is an elastic frilly red/black lacy number and the patterned paper is very fibrous – almost like material – it came from one of those paper offcut packs at the craft fair.

P1020713

Here is the Mojo Sketch this week..

I’ve been dying to use this sentiment stamp, it’s from the Hero Arts Clings range and is called Messages – there are three sentiments all up. I purchased it at the last craft fair in Brisbane and I’m off to another one tomorrow so I thought I’d better use it quick smart!

P1020714

There is also this cute little flower that I’ve made myself from a strip of netted material and a scallop circle cut from the same paper used on the front and a vintage style brad to hold it altogether.  I saw this idea in a magazine, and while mine’s a bit messier than the example, I still like it - hope you like it.

Ciao for now Smile

Girls Birthday

Howdy Folks…

My good friends’ daughter turned Eleven this week
( my goodness time is flying by!)
Anyway, I made this gorgeous card for her using “Tori Famous” from Kenny K coloured with Copic pens, the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Di and a new corner die from Nellie’s. Without further ado.. here it is…

P1020679

A little close up of the lovely flower with bling centre and shiny silver card.

P1020681

The inside looks pretty good too, it’s an easel card so I had to have a fab inside with a sentiment for a stopper.

P1020682

I printed the sentiment out from the computer, it holds the card open nicely. (i’ve rubbed off what I wrote and having not used this function on my computer before, it kinda left bits and looks a little messy, sorry.)

P1020683

and of course there’s plenty of bling – this girl is a real girly girl and I’m sure she loved it, even if she didn’t quite get the sentiment Smile

I’m going to enter this into some challenges I think…
Do Tori and her Piano count as two characters? I’ve got the pink bit right at least, so in it goes to Crafty Passion Challenges double up pink challenge.
Diecut Dreams want us to use a poem on our card – well – Eleven Schmeven Thought you were Twenty Seven is a wee bit of a poem I think!
Bling it On Challenges don’t want to see any patterned papers, and there’s not a one on this card – just a bit of hi-lighted embossing on the front Smile
and… last but not least…Annabelle Stamps Say it with Embellished Corners challenge is the one I had in mind when I started this project!

Will be back with my Mojo Monday sketch later hopefully, but

Ciao for now.

Dude! It’s Eyegor!

Hi Everyone,

Bet that heading caught your attention huh!

I was checking out the Dude Time Doodles blog on recommendation from Nanna Connie and just happened to arrive right on time for this challenge using their freebie. Incidently I came across Nanna Connie’s blog and her cat stood out from the page as being very similar to my Silly Solly Puss Cat as seen on my side bar and I simply had to comment on it – Check out the resemblance for yourself!

P1020693

We had to use pink in honour of breast cancer awareness and the freebie supplied, which is the adorable “Eyegor”.

P1020695

I used what Copic markers I do have to colour ‘her’ in - I think it must be a she with all that pink - my pumpkin is a little yellow though on account of the lack of Copics!
This challenge is also a call for a guest DT spot, so if your interested – it’s open until the 18th of October.
I know it’s just a couple of days away, but hey – the image is free and it won’t take you long to knock something up. Get in a have a go yourself, get the image at Dude Time Doodles now!

P1020696

I also decorated the inside using the leftover bits as I have been known to do recently.

Hope you like my contribution and thanks for visiting. As always, Ciao for now Smile

Mojo Tattered Floral

Hello Everyone,
I’ve completed my Mojo Monday sketch early this week – I’m usually uploading on a Sunday night!

P1020664

I’m back with that gorgeous Kaiser 6” paper pack called Tea at Elsies. I’ve also used my Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die to make the flower, along with some blingy glitter. The twine and button on the top were part of the sketch too - here it is...

Here’s a close up showing the dimension on the flower, and the embossing on the bottom layer.

P1020667

These are such pretty colours to work with, and the paper stack makes it easy with a push out banner and everything matching.

Well I’ve got a couple of days of work ahead of me, so won’t be back until the week-end.

Thanks for stopping by and Ciao for now…

Peaceful Case

Hello Again, Thanks for dropping by..

Today i am sharing a card that I have done for the Case Study Challenge, it’s number 60 and the muse this week is Niki Estes . It’s her first week as Muse and my interpretation of her card is this….

P1020653

This is Niki’s card…
CASE Challenge #60

I’ve tried to use the same layout and similar elements to Niki’s card, even though mine is a vintage style Christmas theme and hers is absolutely beautifully and bright and clean at the same time, I think I nailed it Surprised smile

P1020655

I’ve used some leftovers on the inside again – i like this as it carries the theme right through the card and there’s less “little bits” in my scrap box, which is growing!

All Kaiser Craft products used today,
(6” paper pack – “Dear Santa collection”, along with a stamp sets from the “Belle Collection” and “Be Merry”.  Oh, and a little Kindy glitz for bling Smile)
I hope you like my take on the Case Study Challenge this week and look forward to some more from Niki Estes – she has a lovely style.

Ciao for now…

Mojo Joy

Hello Everyone,

I’ve been happy to make a couple of Christmas cards this week in my spare time at night. This is one of them
– using the Mojo Monday #209 sketch for the week.
- It’s competition week too – yahoo!

P1020656

I’ve used a Kaiser 6” paper pack to make the background and then some felt star tape down the right side. The spellbinders came in handy to get everything the right size. I’ve used both circles, circle scallops and rectangles here.

Mojo209Sketch

My central panel is embossed and I’ve incorporated a Christmas bauble into the design. I spotted this technique a couple of times, most recently at Valitas Designs and Fresh Folds. Mine is a pale comparison, but it is the first one I’ve made so there is room for improvement.

     P1020657

The inside of this card was put together with leftover paper. I really like this blingy paper and didn’t want to waste it.

P1020659

Hope you like my Mojo for this week.
I’ll be back with more later today.
Thanks for looking and Ciao for now Smile

First Craft Queen

This is the First Ever challenge on the Craft Queen blog!

Awesome!

The challenge is to use the Craft Queen logo as inspiration, this is it…

craftqueen_logo_v_2 (Small)

I took it a step further than that and used their new Blog Banner too – It had so much happening on it – check it out here. Craft Queen is one of my favourite shops online!
Here is my card…

P1020604

I’ve used the pinks and greens and of the logo in the cardstock which was embossed, sanded back and sewn down the layers with a pile of different ribbons. There are some leftover nested die cuts creating some pattern there too.

P1020609

I then added an eclectic mix of flowers, ribbons, buttons, brads, stapled some lace on there, added the edge of some watercolour paper offcut that was floating around on my desk and generally made it pretty with glitter and butterflies. Even a butterfly on the inside…

P1020614

I love making arty cards like this where there is no plan (apart from colour and general idea) and I can just build it as I go. Why don’t you have a go at the challenge for October at Craft Queen too Surprised smile

I hope you like it, I think I’ll also show it off at Make it Monday (just because it’s Monday! lol)
Have a great week Smile

Bloggers Challenge Hop

Hi Everyone,

Told you I’d been busy in Girl World! he he he having fun is what it’s all about!

I’ve made the following card using this sketch at Lisa Somerville’s blog “Splendiferous Creations”.

Bloggers Challenge

This challenge is also a Blog Hop, so if you’d like to join in, you can do so right from here – see the linky list at the bottom of the page – it’s all too easy!

P1020632

I have made this wonderful window card using embossed acetate, Kaiser papers again – I just love their 6” paper packs, this one is called “Peachy Keen”. Even the little birdy is part of the pack!

P1020628

I also decorated the inside and stamped a “Forever Friends” sentiment that can be seen through the window. (when the light is not shining on the acetate it can anyway Winking smile )

P1020629      P1020630

This is what the back of the inside cover of the card looks like. I covered up the edges of the acetate with the leftover frame from the front of the card. It’s very tidy if I say so myself.

I am really pleased with this card. The idea for the acetate window came from my good friend Trish from Trish and Treasure, who has been challenged by her monthly crafting buddies to bring along a project of the month using acetate.

I hope this card gives her some inspiration Smile

A Blooming Case

Oooh, that sounds a bit rude don’t it?

I’ve done the Case Study Challenge again this week, #59 - it is the Muses’ last week, and I really like Julie Lacey’s cards so had to get in on the action now or never!

This is my Card…

P1020623

The background paper is a little busier than Julies, but I love this paper. It’s from Kaiser’s Tea at Elsies collection. I layered it up with some dark blue cardstock and used the apricot colour across the top, along with a nice bright orange ribbon. (dark blue probably would have been nicer, but I didn’t have any – one for the shopping list!) The sentiment I collected for $1 in the bargain bin at my local craft shop and the brads were from my stash. I would have liked to use orange bling here, but it’s another thing that will go on the shopping list for next time. My brads are a little crooked….they’re supposed to be that way…honest they are!

and this is the Muses card ( Muse being Julie Lacey)

Case Challenge #59

I really like the simplicity of Julie’s card. The banner of embossed card topped with ribbon is probably something I’ll use a lot more of in future. I’ve  used a favourite flower embossing folder on mine…

P1020624

I’ve had a big week-end in girl world so will be posting a few more cards too – keep an eye on this blog now…

Ciao for now Smile
